Andaz West Hollywood - a concept by Hyatt

Really disappointing stay. First the positives. The location is good if you are doing a variety of LA places to visit, ie the Studios, Santa Monica, Beverly Hills, Dodgers etc. the staff (with the exception of one) were really nice and friendly. Now the downsides - firstly the rooftop pool (which was one of the reasons we booked it), they sell day passes to non hotel guests, and during our six day stay we only managed to get a lounger once. One day it was completely shut (for a private party) and Friday and Saturday it is packed with party goers (100+), so our kids were disappointed to say the least. So it’s a party hotel right ? Not quite. The bar downstairs (called “The Riot House”) closed at 9pm if not early some nights, and the barman is rude and lies about the opening hours. The final negative which wasn’t great was we couldn’t get into our room until 5.30pm on our arrival day , which after a 12 hour flight is less than ideal. The management eventually gave us one night free (charged for 5 instead of 6) and waived the destination fee so in the end it was an ok outcome but wanted to post this to make sure other families don’t fall into the same trap re the pool or if like to sit in a hotel bar playing cards etc in the evening. We spent most of our late evening in our room.

This hotel was great. A few things I wish I knew before traveling: the pool was not exactly for kids (think more Vegas pool party than chill lay by the pool) and parking was $70 per night.

Hotel workers were on strike, no room service, limited menu for food, ans kids could not swim (private event) Also they rent out pool to non guests and had a second event booked with loud music on top of the striking large group outside our room with noise machines and porta potties out front. The few employees that were at property were very nice but we selected this location and property for the amenities ans did not get a discount.

We have a great stay. Upon entering I thought that this will not be a baby-friendly hotel and more like a party or adults only hotel, but we were wrong. Front desk was very nice and accommodating and the room we got was very quiet. My baby and I never had any issues. Room was nice, clean, and dark which was very important when our baby tries to nap. Pool was nice as well. Love the location! Will def stay again.

The rooms have no water, or in room bar. There was a broken flashing light in the room, uncomfortable pillows, and a noisy elevator. The bar closes at 11pm. While our family loves staying at the Andaz in Maui, the LA property feels like a 3rd world country hotel.

Great location to get everywhere you need to see in LA. Very safe area. As a family we felt very safe. Great pool and rooftop bar. Little on the pricey side for drinks but that was the only downside. Staff were fabulous and just so accommodating

We booked the property because of the pool as we had our kids with us. With short notice, we were informed the pool and deck were out of commission. A huge bummer and we would have looked to find another venue if we had known in time.
