Bluestem Hotel Torrance - Los Angeles, Ascend Hotel Collection

Stayed here with family before a cruise. Lovely clean and comfortable rooms, loved the courtyard with plenty of seating and fire table. Close to a huge shopping centre for last minute items, and an easy 15 minute Uber to the port in Long Beach. Highly recommend!

The stay was great. We had an issue with our rental car so we had to uber to the hotel with all of our luggage (8 bags) early in the day. I forgot the name of the day shift employee at the counter, julie maybe, but she was fantastic. Very nice, professional and understanding. There was a gentleman working with her also that was very helpful. We were about to leave our luggage at the property and find something to do until our room was ready, but then we were told our room was all set and could check in early. We were essentially stranded at the car rental property, then in the hotel lobby with my family of 6 with all of our bags, and julie, lets just call her julie, if thats not her name, noticed and was able to go above and beyond to get a room ready for us. Well before the checkin time. The hotel property was great all around. Thank you to the employees and their hospitality that turned the beginning of our vacation from disaster to very pleasant.

Our family had an excellent stay at the Bluestem Hotel Torrance Los Angeles. Would recommend this place to my friends and connections.

Decent but I don’t recommend if you have kids.

Very pleasant stay. Had to extend our time there but due to holidays (New Year’s) they were unable to accommodate which is understandable. Wish it was slightly cheaper due to having to prolong our stay due to family emergency.

As a previous review I read said this was a "gem", I have to agree. It was a small, quaint place but updated with modern fixtures and very clean. The beds were very comfortable and they provided peppermint eucalyptus soap, shampoo & conditioner from bath & body works which I love. Towels were provided in abundance so you don't have to worry about shortages. The water in the shower was great too. Plenty of hot water. There was a nice little patio with a fire pit and comfortable seating. The staff was also great and attentive. Enclosed, free, gated parking on site if you are driving. The drawback is there is no pool and no food service but you can walk to or order from a restaurant or Wendys next door. I would definitely stay here again. It was only a mile from family I was visiting so that was a plus for me. I would definitely recommend if you are looking for someplace quiet. Somehow Hotels.com put my reservation in my daughter's name although I booked it with my credit card but the manager was able to correct that for me. The reservation and card must be in the same name. Otherwise, I thoroughly enjoyed this place.
