Our stay was fun and very comfortable. The “hands free” pancake machine was a sweet and tasty way to make it feel a little more fun. All employees were kind and welcoming. Our room was huge! We got the penthouse. Brand new kitchen, great view, and huge massage chair. Massage chair was much needed after a day of hiking and zip lining. I will recommend this hotel to all friends and family.

This is a family run quaint hotel. Every member was more than professional and kind. The room was simple and VERY clean. This place will ALWAYS be our spot whenever we visit Catalina!

Pros: great location, price, good mattresses, new bathroom with good water pressure Cons: Not the right location for a family with kids. -Rooms with 2 Queens were incredibly small, claustrophobic. No space for a table or to even put the luggage. -All family rooms (according to lobby person) were looking into a corridor. No privacy. The room across could see into our room. - Very, very poor wifi. I had to use my phone to get wifi to my computer. Impossible to get any work done or do a video call. -Very poor service. We stayed there 4 nights and there was no one ever in the lobby to help even during biz hours. -Upon arrival tried to change the room even if we paying more, and the gentleman there didn't offer any option. -Upon arrival we were told they were low on cleaning stuff and not to expect cleaning during our 4-nights stay. -Drawers were dirty. The walks, and doors had years-old grease. The place hasn't seen a deep cleaning in years. - The soaps were so small that only had enough for 1 day. I had to hunt down the cleaning people to get additional supplies and go to the local pharmacy to buy shampoo and shower gel.

We stayed here 4 years ago and treated ourselves to the honeymoon suite. At the time the facility was great, clean, well maintained and very helpful staff, despite all the stairs we had to climb. This year we brought two of our children and opted for a double room. Very disappointed. The room was clearly not meant for two beds. The furniture was so crowded we could not open the mini fridge nor utilize the drawers. The mattresses were too short for the bed frame and left a big gap at the foot of the bed. The bedding looked like it had been in use since the 80s. The facility did not appear as clean as it was before. The title floors on the walkways looked like they haven’t been cleaned in a long time and the landscaping needed to be tended to. For the amount we paid I had much higher expectations. I understand that most places on the island are dated and that is part of the charm, but this was just not as pristine as it was on our prior visit. It was also the very same time of year almost to the exact day so it wasn’t due to it just being a peak summer time.

Location was convenient, about a 10 minute walk from the ferry dock terminal. Our room had 2 queen beds, fairly comfortable and a bathroom separated from bedroom area which was nice. However, there was no coffeemaker or microwave, and the dorm-style fridge was crammed next to the bed so we could barely open the door. Shower was roomy but toilet was a smaller size and slow flushing. Front desk service was friendly but no breakfast pastries or donuts with lukewarm coffee. Overall okay for family of four, but set aside a hefty budget for food expenses on the island.
