When my family and I first arrived, we were told that we could not check into our room for an hour. So we waited in the lobby. During our wait, two other families arrived and promptly checked in. I returned to the counter and explained that my family and I were told to wait. The clerk checked our status again and proceeded to check us in. Never was given a rational explanation on why we were told to wait. After that hiccup, the rest of the stay was great.

Thoroughly disappointed, traveling with two small children with reservations at the Residence Inn Tuscaloosa, we were not able to stay. With luggage in the lobby, we were told there is some wrong with the "availability" of the room. They wanted to split our family up into two rooms at the same rate. Unacceptable, will not be straying away from IHG options anymore, should've booked a Hilton Hotel and avoided this harsh inconvenience.

The staff were very friendly, the swimming pool, basketball court, and BBQ with fire pit area was great to have with our kids.
