Brooks hotel is in a good location and the staff are helpful and friendly. We had a family room and although the main bed was comfortable, the kids beds which folded out of chairs, were not. The breakfast was fine. I really liked the lounge and the pool table.

Friendly, helpful and accommodating staff, but the hotel is in desperate need of some TLC, and the cleanliness in the non obvious places is non existent. Mattresses need changing and kids bed is a uncomfortable. It's a shame as it is a lovely property, just needs a bit of investment.

Dirty bedding. Very uncomfortable beds. Not enough pillows even though we paid for a family room. Had to wait over and hour for breakfast for 2 out of the 3 days we stayed. Would not stay here again.

Brooks was a family run hotel. Breakfast was great, rooms were not super clean to my expectations and the walls are PAPER THIN. The bed was old and we could feel the springs. Check in was okay, but we requested parking and we had to park a ways away. This is hard with luggage and a baby!

The Brooks Hotel was a huge disappointment versus the pictures. The hotel suffers from damp, smells along the corridors, poor condition of the floors and carpets. Our room was damp and dingy. My family's rooms were equally disappointing. The hotel needs a serious remediation to fix the issues. I've stayed in equally old hotels but the conditions were much better as the owners had taken the correct steps to maintain the hotel to a comfortable level. I would not stay here again.

Very clean hotel. Room seemed really small though as kids beds seemed to have been squeezed into a normal double room. Parking is a 2-3 minute walk away and getting out of the car park on foot can be quite confusing. Breakfast was nice and freshly made

The staff and the hotel itself could not be faulted. The appearance of the hotel, cleanliness and the room we're fab. After 5 days of travelling across the country we felt excited at the fact we could finally rest well in what seemed on the surface to be a little more luxurious than our previous 4. However, our family room was situated on the ground floor right next to the entrance. Where people come and go ALL NIGHT! The door itself bangs EVERY TIME somebody enters or exits. The movement of people above us could be heard and felt into the early hours of the morning. The staff Manning the reception could also be heard chatting. Then from 6am the hustle and bustle of the hotel began again leaving us unable to sleep longer than a few hours and being even more weary than before! It's a shame as the hotel is in a beautifully historic building in a prime location!
