This was my second stay in a hamilton by hilton. I was travelling with my 2 adult sons and had booked a family room. I was a little disappointed by the lack of space in the room when the double bed and put u up were made up. However there was adaquate social space in the hotel. It was central city which was good.

Lovely hotel in general and good breakfast put on each morning of our stay. However, the mattress was extremely hard and we woke up feeling quite sore. Most rooms are also separated with an adjoined door which is locked and Safe. We could hear the people next door cough and move around so if you were next door to anyone more noisey or people with children you would hear pretty much everything as it is only two doors separating the rooms. The bus stop was right outside and was Great to get around the city on bus 34 and 35. It was also 10 minutes walk to train and bus station to get back to the airport. Good overall but wouldn't stay again because of the mattress as we did not get restful sleep the whole weekend.

We have stayed here a few times as close to family. Great staff and a fine breakfast. Clean rooms and good shower. Close to transport but easily walkable, plenty of good food/drink and retail nearby. Always feel happy when I walk into the reception here and collect my key.

Overall a good stay for 2 nights. Comfortable for family. Rooms were clean. Breakfast good. Location is walkable within 20mins to centre.
Recommendations: more hooks or hangers to hang dry towels in bathroom.
Breakfast: great selection and included waffle maker
Friendly staff if not sometimes too overbearing.
Reception: staff on arrival was good. but when we were leaving, the staff on duty did not seem too knowledgeable when we had questions about parking and check-out. slow and unresponsive.
Parking: limited. Would have appreciated if given the option to book parking earlier or when booking the room. It was not clear. We did notify the hotel prior that we were driving in and required parking and were arriving late 8-9pm. However, when we did arrive there were no parking spots available and there was construction right in front of the hotel, so it was confusing for foreign drivers to find a spot to park temporarily to unload and drop off luggage to check-in and then have to park off-site.

Modern, bright and welcoming!
Accommodation was great - modern, clean, spacious bathroom, friendly and helpful staff.
Location - very easy walking distance from both Haymarket Station,to places we were visiting - theatre and Van Gogh Alive and on to Princes Street.
Wee bonus is that the breakfast which is include was excellent!
Hotel busy in the morning with tourists and families -yet didn’t feel crowded-a positive buzz- staff and breakfast set up works well!
Competitive prices- excellent value.
Would happily return here and recommend to others.

4 days in Edinburgh with the family, Stayed at the Hampton by Hilton, nice hotel, busy, but to be expected. Air conditioning controls didn’t work, couldn’t adjust any temperature or fan speed, asked receptionist to get this fixed, it never happened.
Breakfast extremely busy, 80 seats for over 500 guests.
20 mins walk to Royal Mile and Princess St, a good base. Parking over the road at the Quay.

I visited Edinburgh with my wife and 12 year old daughter and we had a wonderful stay at Hampton by Hilton. Lovely, friendly staff. Great comfortable room and a very nice breakfast with plenty of choices for both adults and kids.
My only gripe is the temperature of the water in the bathroom sinks is just warm, so not really hot enough to have a god wet shave.

We stayed in room 93 as a family of 3. From the pictures we were expecting 2 actual beds, one of the beds seemed like a metal fold out bed that took up so much room that we couldn't even use the chair to seat on. The room was too small for the beds.
The bathroom did not have a proper door so nothing was private. The sink was so high and deep that my 7 year old had to be lifted to use it.
The breakfast was mediocre to poor.
Also, I stood at the reception desk multiple times and was ignored by staff standing right in front of me.
I definitely wouldn't use the Hampton brand again.
