York Pavilion Hotel, Sure Hotel Collection by Best Western

I booked this hotel at the cost for £160 for a family get-together. For the price, I expected not to have a room that stank had no plugs anywhere near the bed and had a leaking macerated toilet (probably the cause of the smell). I didn’t get into the room till 1 am as we went out for dinner and drinks, and at that point it was too late to change, although I assume they were fully booked anyway as I was given room 16, which was a hovel. Rip off and this room should not be on sale.

Stayed here for our one year wedding anniversary, we recently have had a baby so was looking forward to a night where we could relax. The TV didn’t work, the shower was scolding hot you could not use it and there was drainage issues meaning all we could hear throughout the night was the sink bubbling with air and water. Very disappointed wouldn’t come again.

Upon arrival , I was told My virtual payment hasn’t gone through so I paid for my room then. After going up to the room I checked my bank to see that I had actually paid for the room the first time , so now had been charged twice. Upon issuing a refund .. they actually charged me again so this was the Third time I had paid for my room. And had to wait the next night for the refund which obviously left my bank short and my family unable to do some of the things we had planned. The room was a disappointment , some lights were out and our king bed or whatever it was that we booked was just two beds pushed together .. so me and my partner had to keep our distance otherwise we fell down the gap. We also requested a toddler bed for our 2 year old .. which turned out to just be a mattress thrown on the floor. Not too suitable for a 2 year old I’m sure you’d agree. Finally the heat was pretty high from the weather so windows were open when possible .. but when my partner went to the toilet she was forced to close the window and blind because there was a lady stood on the rooftop having a smoke and staring through our bathroom window. Safe to say I won’t be staying again.

Unfortunate circumstances as we were attending a family funeral. The hotel was lovely, fine weather meant we were able to sit in the courtyard.
