The walls of the rooms are thin and noisy especially when there are children staying and playing in the room. There is only one single lift so it doesn't help when it is out of order, you have been on your feet all day, your room is on the 4th floor and you have arthritis.

Can’t fault a thing about this hotel! For me, the three most important factors are affordability, cleanliness, and the breakfast. All three were spot on. The added pluses for me was how close it was to the train station and all the major spots in York. My kids loved the GF lounge where there were board games for them to play with. The staff were super friendly and offered to keep our luggage after we checked out whilst we did some more touring in the city before catching our train in the evening. The only thing I wish they had was halal options at breakfast, but that’s not a dealbreaker for me.

We stayed in a family room and to be honest it was very small. The kids shared a sofa bed which filled the whole floor and there was barely any room to move around. It wasn't cheap so this was a little disappointing. The 1st night we stayed in room 107 and the aircon extraction units were right outside our window which made it quite difficult to sleep because of the noise and vibration. The staff were more than happy to move us to another room tho for our 2nd night. On that note, the staff were all great! Very pleasant and helpful everywhere in the hotel. The breakfast was mediocre. All in all i expected a little better for the price we paid.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. I upgraded to a superior family room. This was very small for a family room with hardly enough room to move with the sofa bed out. The sofa bed was pretty dangerous with lots of metal bits sticking out. Bathroom was clean but very dated. Bed was not very comfortable. If this was an upgraded room, dread to think what a standard room would have been like, probably just as good and not worth the upgrade. Breakfast was fabulous. It was very busy but staff worked very hard making sure tables were cleared quickly and there was always plenty of food available.

We booked a double with a sofa bed. I wouldn't recommend it for a family of four. The end of the sofa bed touched the side of the other bed, so the whole room was just bed.

Trip with extended family. Great location. No parking meant a walk to get the car each day. The bed was really comfy and the room nice, except the bathroom which was a little worn in places. Good breakfast and nice reception staff. One thing negative was the housekeeping team made up our room even though we left a do not disturb sign on the door (we were only there two nights so no need). Came back to find our personal belongings moved which wasn't good. There was also quite a lot of noise from neighbouring rooms (TV or talking). Would've been a solid top marks other than these points.

Hotel is in a convenient location with car park a short walk away and the city centre not far as well. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was nice and good choice of food. Only slight downside was we had a family room for two adults and two children and it felt a little small due to the space taken up by the sofa bed. York is a great city to visit with plenty to do.
