Elmbank Hotel & Lodge

This is the second ti.e we have stayed here and we invited family to stay. Excellent stay. Staff amazing all good

I booked this hotel for my parents for a family wedding. They absolutely loved the hotel, the decoration and the staff. They will definitely stay again when in York. It is their new favourite! Thank you.

I had a great stay at the Elmbank. Loved the decor of the hotel and the room. Super comfortable and the shower was fabulous. I couldn’t fault the restaurant, great menu and fabulous service. Will definitely be back when I’m next in York visiting family.

Beautiful property, clean, unique, and close to downtown York but still quiet enough for sleeping. Amazing view from the Lodge Attic room! Our family had a great experience and the bar was opulent with great cocktails. Thank you for making our family vacation a real treat in York!! So far it’s the highlight of our UK trip.

I booked my family stay during the worst snow and cold this winter and was snowed in at home, so I phoned hotel to see if they could move my two nights of stay to another time. They refused saying they cannot possibly do that (I have discovered later from staff that they were not booked fully and don't expect to be this winter). The parking was full when we arrived after travelling 4 hours through thick fog and sub zero temperature, checking in late as it took forever to get our vehicle free of ice and snow back home in order to get to York in very poor and dangerous driving conditions. When we finally got to our room we were impressed by the decor and room position. Room was very cold and reception allowed for a slightly higher temperature so we can keep warm. Room seemed clean overall apart from some mould around lovely old fashioned single pane window, with a view of lovely pine trees. The only criticism would be the shower as the door was ill fitting and shower hose was leaky but when we asked for extra shampoos we got them promptly from a lovely lady at reception. Bed was comfortable and clean. Restaurant within the hotel is lovely, cosy, lovely staff but could do with menu expansion to include more vegan and vegetarian options. Wish we didn't have to risk our lives in freezing icy conditions to get there but overall pleasant stay.

We had a lovely stay. The family attic room was huge - two great sized rooms, dressing room and big bathroom. Beds were lovely and comfortable and shower was lovely after a long walk round York.

Booked 4 night's and stayed in the lodge side. Thought the room may have been bigger, but it was very nice, clean, had all the accessories needed ie iron and ironing board, hairdryer coffee and tea etc. The ved was very comfy and we both has enough pillows. The staff in the restaurant, bar and the night porters were all amazing, very friendly. The receptionist on booking in a d checking out were also very pleasant. The whole stay was fantastic..we would definitely stay again and recommend to friends and family.

Really lovely hotel. We were in a really spacious family room with a seating area, which was a real bonus. We loved the decor. Would really recommend it

We stayed in a family room in the lodge section which was great. Lovely big room, and separate bed for the little one. There was a separate area with fridge and kettle. The bed was a bit hard, but otherwise it was absolutely lovely.
