The Royal Hotel

Our room was at the front of the hotel. Witch we found that it would result in no sleep .Till around 3am because of the noisy bars across the road and we was in one of there family rooms omg,How parents with children put up with that crap god only knows. Breakfast had good choices but the hot food was cold I did report it to staff but.second day hot food was still being served cold .will not be staying again

It was not so good. Our booked double room turned into a remote family room overlooking the bins and a scruffy yard. The bed was like a board with springs twanging loudly throughout the night. Service at dinner was slapstick. While I understand new staff need learn the ropes, stretching across diners with plates of food, messing up orders and then ignoring the table for duration was unacceptable. A little training would have been good. We didnt bother with breakfast, we couldn't face the palaver. Parking was brilliant. Location was brilliant but not a value for money stay.

Hotel is fantastic in terms of location and beautiful hotel. The one huge problem was our room (212) it's opposite a pub/club which stays open until 2am. Which obviously is not ideal if you have children or want to get to sleep before then! Also there wis no air con so we had to have the window open as it was a warm evening after a hot day. We didn't need the TV though as stayed up watching drunk women arguing, 2 live in real time fist fights and the police conveniently appearing after the brilliant bouncers had calmed it all down.. all from the comfort of our room haha! It was a lovely hotel, with fantastic staff, our room was clean and the location is amazing. Just can't give it 5 stars as ideally you'd want some more sleep than what we got!

Perfect place to stay for the location but very noisy from 6.30am. We were very much looking forward to a child free lie in!
