Chiseldon House

We loved the hotel and were made most welcome by all your staff who couldnt have been more attentive , helpful and polite. Your cleaner made a special effort to finish a room early for family joining us on the second night and reception changed the room allocation for our convenience. Our room no.7 was clean warm and comfortable. The bathroom was adequate but needs a little updating and attention to some small details....However we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and the delicious food. Would absolutely recommend and will be back!

My 2nd visit to the Chiselden House Hotel and I had a lovely time stopping over, visiting family for the Bank holiday. Room was very nice and made use of the bath. Not often I find one I can fit in! Bed was very comfortable, the right level of firmness for an often sore back. Unfortunately I had to leave early the next morning for work so had to decline the cooked breakfast, but staff were very hospitable and flexible with a few small requests, to make my stay comfortable. Had a nice G&T and pleasant chat with the welcoming receptionist, as it was a fairly quiet evening. As a solo traveller I was glad of the conversation. Will definitely be visiting again as it's well priced and convenient for my needs.

Overall we had a great stay. The rooms were very spacious and the beds were comfortable enough. The hotel is old and is a little rough around the edges but it has lots of charm that you don’t get from a modern one. The service was very good. Elisa (spelling correct?) was exceptionally good. We had 2x rooms and stayed 2 nights. One room was a bit noisy from heating pipes or water heating up early in the morning. It kept us awake. We asked to move for the following night and had a much quieter room and a good sleep. Our kids loved muntjac deer spotting in the hotel grounds and we saw a few. The food was nice and good value. The breakfast was nicely prepared and we also had a set evening meal one night and was impressed with the quality, portions and price. The rooms need a bit of updating but then it would probably cost more. We would happily stay again.
