Victory House Leicester Square

Rented a junior suite for a few days. Not a big room or bathroom but the price was reasonable and the room was modern and nice. It’s an old building so the pipes run inside the room walls. That gives some water noises when people upstairs start using showers and toilets. A bit annoying early mornings but the hotel provides ear plugs for the light sleeper. Some street noise but tolerable given the location. It’s a very! lively district in the evening and night. So depending on preferences, be aware. Hotel entrance/reception is small, with no real breakfast and staff seems to be there mostly if you need anything and not to greet you with a warm welcome but with 24 hour service and food and drinks are all around the district. Walking distance to many seight seeing points and easy to get to.

This hotel is in the heart of Leicester Square, basically a mini "Times Square," and a wonderful location. It is right by China Town, where guests can find wonderful authentic food, and there is always a street performance going on (break dancing, singing, caricature artists, etc). Going up the road to Picadilly provides options for other food options, shopping, and is a 15-minute walk to Green Park. Transporation is readily available nearby. Metro/Subway stations are basically 500ft away, as well as a taxicab stand and bus stops. The staff are very friendly and get to you and your family. One of the front desk folks even agreed to post my mail for me during my stay! They responded to emails prior to my visit, and gave restaurant recommendations. The hotel does not currently do recycling, but there are city recycle bins outside for you to deposit glass/plastic/aluminum items. Overall, we enjoyed our stay greatly! The only issue was during check-in, and wasn't totally the hotel's fault. The guests who stayed in my room before me had a late check-out, and subsequently my room was not available at 3pm as expected. Another thing is that this hotel is in England, and as such uses European outlets. American power cords will not work. The rooms come with USB outlets, but otherwise there is not much in the way of charging options (didn't see many outlet ports in room). Additionally, this hotel is card only and does not accept cash, and payment is required at check-in, not check-out
