Assembly Covent Garden

Check-in was quick although the key app never worked so ended up going back for a keycard to get in. The room is tiny with barely any facilities, no tv or drink making facilities. The room didn’t even have glasses for water. The bed is tiny and crammed up against the side. For clothes there is a small rail and 2 drawers. The carpet looked like it hadn’t been hoovered for a long time as it was dirty. When we went in the bathroom the toilet had skid marks up the back. At night we found the lights were all or nothing, you couldn’t turn the main lights out and have the bedside lights on. The only reason for 2 stars is the location for theatres.

VERY DISAPPOINTING AND WASTE OF MONEY! The pictures and description of the property/room is very misleading. I don’t see how the people in the pictures look happy. In tiny room 908, there was only a sofa, a bed, a small bunny ‘seat,’ and a tiny washroom. The room barely fit luggage of 3. Surely not family friendly. It was such a bad experience that we left after 2 days from our 6 day stay. After a couple of discussions throughout our 2 days there, we were told by the staff on departure day that they had a sister-hotel that may have saved us time with finding a new place. The staff was unpleasant. Also during our departure day, the staff stated they emailed the property manager about our concerns and refund and told us they will contact me when they hear back from the manager. It has been 7 days already and I still haven’t received an email or phone call with an update. So unpromising staff. Overall, Assembly Hotel is surely not a place to start your London trip with and surely not a place to put money into. Best for you to spend a little more somewhere else for comfort and a loyal hotel/company.
