Overflowing skips and bins outside, with rubbish scattered across the roads in front of the hotel, made for a poor first impression.
However, the hotel itself is charming, with friendly staff, clean rooms, and beautiful high ceilings.
I previously stayed in a junior room and decided to upgrade to a senior room this time. To my surprise, the senior room was much smaller than the junior room I had before.
Breakfast was nice but limited, offering only two options: English or Indian breakfast. The continental selection was also minimal. On a positive note, the orange juice was fresh and delicious.
The toast, however, was disappointing. My husband and I requested brown toast but were served the thinnest, most tasteless white bread, making budget supermarket bread seem luxurious.
The staff are very friendly and helpful, and the location is convenient, just 2 minutes from Tower Bridge. Unfortunately, the room views are not appealing, being completely overlooked by nearby offices and flats. With only heavy blackout curtains and no voile curtains for privacy, the room felt very small and closed in, as we had to keep the curtains drawn during the daytime to maintain our privacy.

My 6th or 7th stay at Lalit over the past couple of years and never disappoints. From the greeting at the door to reception and to the rooms. Have stayed in junior classrooms, senior classrooms and a couple of the suites(worth it to treat yourself).
Service has always been first class.
The good in Baluchi is the best Indian food I have ever tasted. Have visited with friends and they agree. The setting in the old assembly hall is wonderful, service attentive but not fussy and the food looks beautiful. Highly recommend the chefs mums special!! Fabulous.
Can’t wait for my next stay.

You arecinvited into a different world. An old school with Hogward dinning room feeling, small but comfy junior rooms, indian cuisine and 5* approach. Fun, some minor paint chips in the shower, climate control not quite reactive, the stay was marvelous.

The information on the hotels.com website clearly states the room accommodates 3 persons and that children stay for free. Despite this, on arrival we find that there is no bed for our son and that an additional camp bed would cost £50! The receptionist was useless and could barely speak English. Extremely disappointed.

We stayed as a family for a staycation activity, and it was amazing. Although the facility doesn't have a disable/wheelchair friendly access, I suppose it's mainly due to the building being a "Listed or Protected" ones. Overall, great experience and amazing staff members. Will probably visit them again for the intriguing High Chai (Indian version of Afternoon Team) later.
