DoubleTree by Hilton London - Greenwich

Great stay, blackout curtains and silent night sleep. Very impressive for money. Great night away from kids and lovely trip back on Uber boat from Greenwich maritime! Romantic stay.

Slightly disappointing stay but easily rectifiable by the hotel. We booked a family room for the night, arrived to find windows facing a brick wall and one roller blind in the room broken and stuck in closed position thus making for a very dark room. In the morning we put on 'do not disturb' sign and left for breakfast with our toddler. Returned an hour before checkout to find housekeeping had entered the room, partially stripped beds, moved our belongings, and left cleaning products all round the room and bathroom (washing in sink, toilet brush and chemicals in toilet) - less than ideal when needing to still use the bathroom prior to checkout. Front desk staff all very friendly, helpful and the hotel itself clean and in a great location. Think we were just unlucky with the room and checkout morning events.

Very stressful to get an email on Saturday afternoon asking me to ring urgently as there was a problem with the booking. What should have been a relaxed afternoon and walk to the hotel ended up being half an hour on the phone on hold and a dash in an Uber to get there - quality time with family ruined!

I stayed in the junior suite. Was not as spacious as I thought it would be. Too many furniture, although they were very nice on the whole. The heating / cooling system was not working as it should. There is no lift to the 9th floor. You stop on the 8th floor and you walk up to the 9th. And there was work being carried out. Not too much of a disturbance but does not give a good impression. The staff at reception and the dining area were pleasant.
