I booked this as a surprise for my sons birthday and i was told there will be a surprise of some sort for him. However there was nothing and my son was quite disheartened. The duty manager did make up for this with a slice of cake. The pools time are a shame as kids can only go in for a certain time and duration in the day, quite annoying. The room was lovely however there was hair around the plughole in the bathroom. The breakfast finished at 9.30 and i wasnt told what time breakfast was, so i luckily went to eat at 9.20 and managed to get some breakfast. Ive also been charged £4 on my card and the staff dont see why so ive been asked to contact my bank which again is annoying. Im not sure if i would go back, depending on what happens with this review and how much they value their customers i guess. Also getting through to reception can be a very very long wait. Reception staff were friendly and helpful face to face and so was the duty manager of the pool area i believe. The hotel is lovely to look at and has a great ambience, just a shame that a few things went wrong.

Arrived on Xmas eve and the hotel was over-run by dozens of some not so savory clientele. I understand that the hotel has no right to discriminate over who it allows to stay there, but there were zero measures in place to ensure there was order, i.e. some security personnel. We came back to the hotel on Xmas day evening and there was trash all over the lobby area floor and many many young children running around unsupervised and messing with the elevators so nobody else could use them. On Boxing Day evening and early hours of the 27th, we were kept awake beyond 1.00am by the sounds of both children and adults outside of the building. Awoken in the early hours of the morning by drunk unruly adults. Again, where was the security? Condition of the rooms has really deteriorated with mold and rusty shower door/other fixtures. Pubic hair found on bathroom floor from previous guests. I’ve been staying at this hotel at least once/year since it first opened and I’m unlikely to stay there again.

We went on a short family stay with young adults. Facilities were very good. It seems to be a sporting hub. My folks enjoyed the fitness centre and pool/ spa pool/ sauna. Will definitely stay again.

Our family of 4 stayed here for one night ( two rooms) . Both rooms were filthy but one of the rooms was disgusting. Room 329 had clearly been the location of a party- the walls were splattered with beer/champagne, the room had been smoked in a lot, the smell was on the linens and permeated the room and made it so hard to sleep with us to open the window-bathroom had pubic hair, the linens were even dingy. Could not make a cup of tea because the mugs were dirty as were the spoons .the hallways were littered with takeout and the carpets were covered in food and dirt. The other room was also dirty - not to the epic proposition of 329 but the carpet was filthy and it had not been dusted. When I spoke to the young lady at the front desk she told me “it was a mistake” and she had contacted housekeeping and speak to her manager. She offered us a coffee- no offer of a discount - nothing . Terrible - can’t wait to get home and scrub everything that was in the room.

Loved my stay at Village hotel, great having an excellent gym, pool, Starbucks, pub and restaurant all onsite. I booked a Club room, expected a bit more eg no conditioner or body lotion toiletries, only basic coffee and tea and they forgot to refill those too. Tried to book late check out, but person on the phone couldn’t help and reception is self service and no one was around after I waited for a while, so wasn’t able to book. Gym is amazing and so is the pool. Great for a solo, couples or family break

Room was a good size, although the single beds for the kids did impact our ability to walk around d the room with ease. Everything was clean and working in the room.
