Hotel Francisco I

Because we had to wait a little for our room to be cleaned, we were upgraded to a family room that was super comfortable. They accommodated us with a kettle and special tea for our senior traveler who was a little sick. The location is excellent and safe. The staff was very helpful.

The room was very clean. Our housekeeper made sure that our towels and beddings are always fresh and well made. The bartenders Angie & My were very nice. At breakfast all the waitstaff were very pleasant and made sure that the buffet was replenished at all times, made to order eggs & bacon were offered to the guest (kudos to the chef). Over all we were very happy and would recommend to our friends and family. It also didn’t hurt that the location is very near & walkable to all the good shops and restaurants.

Hotel was in an excellent location. I arrived early and got early check in at noon. Soon as I stepped outside, the stores are all around me. Lots of great sights and shopping. Big grocery store nearby, 5 minute walk, 1 litre of freshly squeezed orange juice was very inexpensive, only 5 euro ! Their breakfast buffet was very good, wide variety of food, had made to order omelets. My room was extremely clean, maid did an excellent and outstanding job with daily cleaning, bed was very comfortable with quality linen. It was on the second floor with a Juliet balcony, city view, a little noisy, but it did not bother me. Room had a huge closet with shelving, more than enough to store my clothing. The shower had great water pressure. Didn’t care for the hair dryer, it was weak, but it worked. I would stay there again and recommend it to family and friends,

I love the location of the hotel. The interior is well decorated as well as the exterior Christmas decorations. The staff were all so helpful and friendly. I really enjoyed my stay and will recommend to family and friends. Muy excelente!

My husband I spent a week at the Hotel Francisco and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We arrived a few hours before check-in thinking we could just drop our bag off and come back when a room was ready. Eduardo was kind enough to provide a room right then and there; plus we could change our original reservation of 2 beds to 1 queen bed. The room itself is charming and updated. With great water pressure (be careful on the bathroom floor it was a tad slippery) The bed was very comfortable and we slept very well. This hotel is centrally located in Madrid and only a short walking distance to some of the major historical places (be sure to check out the Royal Palace). The hotel bar is small but did the job, our bartender was a delight and friendly. We will be recommending the Hotel Francisco I to friends and family.

Location ,location , location. 2 minutes from El Mercado de San Miguel. 2 minutes from la plaza mayor. Countless restaurants. 30 euro ride to the airpor 15 euro to atocha ( train station) Double sinks if you are traveling with family is a big plus. I would stay again. Not the most upscale place but very nice. Not comparable to Bless Madrid or Me Madrid however a very good hotel.
