Hotel Puerto Valdes

Great location just outside Old San Juan and a quick drive/Uber ride to Cordado and Ocean Park. Our family of 3 stayed in the penthouse with a view of the Bahia de San Juan. We had a comfortable bed with soft sheets and our daughter had her choice between a twin day bead or double pull-out sofa. There was a kitchen with all the basics we needed (minus paper towels) and comfortable bathroom with separate tub. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. We'd stay here again!

The staff excelled in all aspects. The property and room we stayed in was in great shape. We stayed during New Years eve and January 1st, Overall the San Juan area closes early or doesn't open at all during the holiday. The Steak house in the restaurant was closed, to bad it would have been an excellent experience. The rooftop jacuzzi and view was amazing for the fireworks that filled the San Juan sky. we wanted to explore San Juan in the early evening and even though the hotel has a day shuttle that stops around 4-5pm, the staff member in the front gave my family and I a late tour and recommended some nice restaurants in old San Juan, very memorable indeed. The coffee machine in our room was a bit janky and the jacuzzi in our suit wasn't the cleanest, minor things that you deal with in most hotels. Area around property very urban, it's the city, so lots of traffic as well. 15 minute walk to old San Juan and tons of art to appreciate as you stroll.

My family of four stayed at this hotel for four nights. While the staff was friendly and tried to help, they could not do anything about no hot water in the bathroom or kitchenette for the entire stay. There was no coffee at breakfast because the machine was broken during the entire stay. Breakfast items were not replenished and we had to wait for staff to replenish. The safe in our room was broken and nothing was done about it despite many reminders. We were forced to carry our valuables around with us. The floor was ripping out. One of the sofa beds was not opening and the blinds on the windows were broken as well. To top it all off, we left our car keys with the front desk at their insistence, which they misplaced. Would not stay here again.

In short: This hotel is a diamond in the rough, staff could not have been nicer, we enjoyed the stay and would stay there again. More detail, its worth noting that this hotel is a sliver of a warehouse in a rundown industrial area a block away from the capital building and Old San Juan. They did a GREAT job in the conversion and the rooms are spacious, clean, and interesting (more like an apartment). Even though the block/area looks unsafe at first, after being there for a short time we felt very safe walking to/from Old San Juan. One family note: in the halls and upper lobbies the pictures are surprisingly full/explicit nudity (male and female) which may be inappropriate for children and offensive to some. We enjoyed our stay and would stay there again!

The hotel Is new, modern and perfect for families. The room is very big and beautiful.

Beautiful hotel. Staff was very friendly and attentive. No carpet on floor. Plus for me. Plenty of room so the kids can have there own space. Looking for something cozy and new head on over.

Great room setups for family stays but obviously amateur run hotel. Our room had floorboards coming up. Free breakfast was not done well at all. No plates left after first hour and not always someone there to help. Area is up and coming but def outside of the main Old San Juan area. Would not stay here again.
