The Westin Lagunamar Ocean Resort Villas & Spa, Cancun

I would recommend this resort to my family and friends.

We traveled to Cancun and stayed in the Westin with our 3 kids (one big kid and two toddlers). Resort is very beautiful with good swimming pools and beach access. Kids like it. I would like to give five stars but we didn’t had good experience on the first day of this visit with one of its restaurant’s staff. When we were there and waiting for the food, my 2 year old making sounds with spoon & fork and the guy from the kitchen area shouted from there to stop on my son and made angry face which we all felt really bad, after complaining, the manager apologized but that’s not the way any staff will treat to any guest in this kind of the resort. Other than that everything was good. We like it.

The Westin Lagunamar was just perfect for my family. It was very convenient in every way. And the pool area was the icing on the cake.

Prime location on the hotel strip, very nice beach, very clean, well maintained property with 3 pools. Very clean. Friendly, attentive staff. Very family friendly resort. Took off 1 star for staff & service because of dining (I’d rate everything else 5 star, and dining 3 star). I stayed at this property twice, once in 2016 and once in 2023. Food services have definitely gone downhill. From the menu at the 3 restaurants, to the food quality, to the wait staff/ time, everything was disappointing. I may try another resort in Cancun next time because of this, though I really like the property and the beach.

Wonderful place for our family everything is and was perfect. Only con the food is super Americanized we come here for awesome authentic Mexican food!

Loved this property. Amazing beach and the pool was awesome. Beautiful views from the Infiniti edge and my kids enjoyed the slide. Directly across the street is a huge shopping mall that has a ton of shopping and a boardwalk on the lagoon with a bunch of restaurants, just walk across the street . Highly recommend.

The hotel is beautiful. The only complaint is the bed. Way to soft. We asked the front desk to change the mattress after the first night and they did gladly. Unfortunately, it was not a lot better. Thank goodness for the queen size pull out bed. While it was no great shakes, it was a lot better for us than the pillow-top they use. The pool was fantastic! Watching baby turtles start their lives every morning was awesome! All the staff went above and beyond! Was great to have washer/dryer in the room. Would 100% stay again should we return to Cancun

The property was great. My complaint its Expedia, once again. You guys give the option to pay extra for breakfast and everytime we get to the property they said it wasnt included. Thankfully this time I had the screen shots when I ordered and said BREAKFAST FOR 2. And I made sure I didnt have to pay, but was a pain in the ass having to explain every morning for the staff even the Hotel manager already knew the situation and said would take care of it and put a note on the reservation comments. This is the second time I use Expedia and the second time this happens. My Tulum trip unfortunately I didnt have the screen shot of my order so I couldnt argue and had to pay twice. Get your business right expedia, and stop ripping people off. Send the right information for the hotels and have real people for us to talk on the phone, I couldnt even add my guest on the reservation cuz the bot used on this website dont Add just change the guest name. Property was beautiful, beautiful beach, clean. Elevator buttom on the builden 11 5th floor need to be fixed. Its a family resort, not much young, single people if you looking to have a fun stay and meet people.

Its a good place for a family get away, clean and very close to the water... Though, my biggest negative was that they over charged me by 500usd, when i called front desk to ask they guy was confidently telling me it was for taxes, so i asked to speak to the supervisor or manager, then suddenly he seem to find the that it was a mistake on their part. Since i paid for my stay upfront, he said i had to be asking the restaurants to call them so they will be deducting from that amount and the balance would be refunded at check out. I checked out and i was told my balance would be paid between a week to three weeks... Thats a pretty huge tax or mistake, or whatever that was. Still waiting on my refund its been a week now.

Westin lagunamar resort is a beautiful family hotel. It has everything you need for a relaxing and fun holiday. Love it!
