My family and I traveled to explore the city, and I must say Barcelo exceeded our expectations. Very professional and friendly staff combined with clean and well maintained facilities made our stay a delight. I'd give it more stars if I could.

This hotel is a wonderful location for a family weekend getaway. The pool is clean and ample in size (although not large), with jacuzzis built into the side. The room service is excellent, and there's a good Japanese restaurant literally built into the side of the hotel. I love that the rooms have quiet and effective air conditioning. The executive level snacks and breakfasts were first rate. Definitely recommend.

The hotel was beautiful. I would go back for sure but here are my cons. The AC didn’t work we called for maintenance and they never showed up. The restaurant The Grill one, it started off amazing! They had a face painter for the kids while we waited and brought a whole coloring book. Then Our waiter didn’t bring my daughter’s food, he said I didn’t order it. Why would I not order food for my child. He didn’t even apologize. Food took 1 hour to come out. Then we ordered a chocolate cake with 2 scoops of ice cream it came with one and when we asked him he said it was one top of eachother. That was not the case. We then had to ask for our check 3 times!!!!! Took about 40 minutes just to get our check. WORST SERVICE!

Did not understand our simple request at the front desk, and costing a family member $295.00, not until after checking in then she understood what we were requesting, Hmm

They had really great staff and always nice. The only reasons I had a bad experience the beds were over used and uncomfortable. Beds where sinking in. I had to cancel my trip to come back earlier because my family and I got sick. The hotel wouldn't give us a refund for the days we were canceling. We stayed 7 days out of the 10 days we booked.

The property is nice but we did have a few issues with it. One, my reservation for dinner was never available to us and we had to chase after the lady in charge. Two, our suite went dark when the power to our room went out. Three, the front office called us to complain that I stained one of their towels with my hair color. They accused me of dying my hair in the bathroom, my husband was livid. Little issues like this make us go somewhere else. We were there to celebrate my birthday with many family members and for us to experience a black out in the middle of my celebration didn’t sit well with us.

This was the second time I stayed in Barcelo. I must said that I am extremely disappointed with the service they gave me compared to the first time. We arrived at 1 am to the hotel, the lady changed our rooms 3 times from floors 20, then 15, to finally second floor because they were “performing maintenance” on the other two. The funny story is that they drilled next to my room the entire stay, and I could also hear the noises of the restaurant and street. From music, to cars honking, etc. I asked them to stop drilling since my baby was running a fever and didn’t offer any solution to move us to another room or anything. It was the next day that they called to informed me that they will not stop drilling and they could offer a room change as I was preparing to leave to take my daughter to a doctor. I told them that was not my priority and to stop the drilling since they had other moments to correct it and they didn’t. Either way, they only said they will be drilling all day next to my room. The service was just terrible
