ANA Crowne Plaza Narita, an IHG Hotel

Most of the hotel smells like cigarettes, it is in the middle of nowhere, the food is terrible and expensive, the tv is old and only with Japanese chanels. The hotel does not allow you to order food from outside. The biggest problem for my family and myself is that they wanted to charge us to use the soccer field. If that is not included with your stay, it should be clear and say, "soccer field available for a fee. I spoke with the manager Kazuhiko Kawakami about this issue, but he was not willing to fix the problem. Also people at the front desk were rude. This is more like a motel, and definitely not a 4 star hotel. The rooms and the bathrooms are outdated. I only chosed this hotel for the soccer field, but couldn't use it unless I pay $30.00 US dollars per day.

Perfect location for morning flight, 5 mins from airport with shuttle bus. Excellent for families, kids had a bed each. Bit of a mix up on the kids breakfast, but the manager apologised and resolved it within 5 minutes, which was great!

We were really disappointed due to the indoor pool being closed on the one night we stayed. Only after we arrived we learned that the pool is closed every Wednesday for maintenance. This was not advertised on the website, and the pool is the only reason we booked this particular hotel as we have kids who were excited to use it. When we raised it with the reception staff they acted like it was no big deal - but it was to us. Apart from this, the breakfast buffet and restaurant staff were very good, as was one of the porters who spoke very good English on the morning of 16th March.

Service by front desk was excellent. They were very helpful, but the hotel is old. We stayed in a King Size bed room but the room seemed to be used as twin bed in the past that has bed side lamps. Hence the lamps were sitting right in the middle top of our bed which is a hazard especially since we have a young kid. Shuttle busses I reckoned is poorly managed. From the Narita Airport, the shuttle bus we took was shared with another hotel so it had to take a detour to drop some people off and the bus from AEON mall was shared with Hilton Hotel. The gap from AEON between one bus to the next was two hours apart (from 4ish pm to 6is pm), so there were lots of people in the bus with their luggage and shopping. There was other hotel that picked up their own customers from AEON, but ANA Crown Plaza seems to like to share.
