I would not book this again. We stayed on the third floor and it had a very musty odor. For this reason I would definitely not stay there again. I also felt unsafe on the street. I did read these reviews and wished I would have listened to them. However the staff was all very nice and helpful. The room was also very small. Which I get in Europe but there were 4 of us family members. To small.

Good location if you want to be able to walk. We booked a double room with our kids and space was a bit tight.

Location is very close to the train station which was nice as we arrived and departed via train. The breakfast was very good and had enough options that everyone in my family found something they liked. Staff were very friendly.
The only negative was the beds were firm and only came with one pillow per person. This made it had to get a good nights sleep. I’m not sure if this is how most hotels operate in Germany as our second hotel in Frankfurt had the same issue.

We could not have been happier with our stay. Our family of four stayed in a room with a queen bed and couch bed. The couch bed was very comfortable, as was the queen bed. The front desk helped us figure out train transportation/schedules several times (we speak English) and were very friendly and helpful. The hotel was very quiet. The included breakfast was delicious with lots of great options including rolls, bread, croissants, breakfast cake, cold cuts, eggs, yogurt, fruit, juice, and a nice coffee machine with choices including espresso and cappuccino. It was well staffed and fresh food was brought out regularly. There was plenty of seating even during busy times. We rarely ate lunch because we were still full from the delicious breakfast. The train station is only a 5-10 minute walk from the hotel. If we visit Munich again, we will definitely stay here.

The location is great. Less than 10 mins walk to train station. 10 mins to the gate of the old city center. The room is spacious. We are a family of 4 with 2 kids age 7-9. We stayed comfortably for 3 nights in a Standard Quadruple Room. It’s early September and the temperature is good. The air conditioning works well, but we don’t need it all the time. It’s nice to have a little fridge so we can keep small amount of fruits/cheese cool. No freezer. Love the included breakfast. Kids friendly and keeps us going for the day. Check in was smooth too. We came early and the room was not ready. They allow us to store our luggage and we went on sightseeing right away. Overall is very good value and I highly recommend Arthotel!

This is a very basic,no frills but clean hotel.
Towels were thin. No coffee machine but has a refrigerator and a safe.
Bathroom is big! I got the family room which is very spacious.
No carpet, pergo floors ,which is my preference. Bed is firm. Pillows soft. There is a bar in the lobby. Breakfast included and is pretty decent.
Staff are friendly and helpful.

Our stay with the hotel was a terrific experience. The manager of art hotel was very rude to my kids. I have to say our trip was spoiled just because of the stay in this hotel

Our group had three rooms on the second floor of the annex building adjacent to the main hotel building. The rooms were clean and had plenty of space when judged against a European scale. The beds were comfortable. Even though we were on the same floor and adjacent to the breakfast room we had no problems with any noise from the corridor. Perhaps one small down side would be the extremely tight bathroom in our room (125) which required a diagonal seat on the toilet to miss the column immediately in front of it.
The breakfast buffet provided was pretty typicl to German hotels. There was a good assortment of baked goods, fruit, cereal, eggs, cheeses, and fresh vegetables that would suit any tastes. The breakfast room was very clean and the staff was quite attentive.
The front desk staff at the hotel was very helpful and completely fluent in English. Check in only took a couple of minutes. There is a fun little bar in the lobby which we enjoyed one night for an evening of beer and cards.
The hotel location provides easy access to the U-bahn at the train station or, about equally distant, the U-bahn station at St. Paul's church near Theresianwiese. There are many hotels in this district. It was easy to walk to one of the U-bahn stations and catch a ride anywhere in the City of Munich.
This was the second time in six years that I have stayed at this hotel and I would recommend it to both families and adult travellers.
