Staybridge Suites Hamilton Downtown, an IHG Hotel

I had a $400 suit (after taxes). It did not come with parking. Parking was extra. There was no mention of that extra fee anywhere in the online information or agreement. I wanted to stay at an adult centric high quality hotel. The people in the next room let their kids run up and down the hall, screaming.

This hotel was great for our family. The kids loved it and we had a really enjoyable stay.

I'm not sure why this place has so many good reviews, it was not a good experience. The good: the front desk staff were lovely and we really enjoyed the breakfast. The room could have been nice and it was mostly clean.... Now the bad, the hallway smelled really bad and the carpet had big stains everywhere, I'm hoping it was from pets but I'm not so sure. The room was incredibly dark and depressing and the sofa smelled like urine (like stunk of it). If they replaced the sofa and installed overhead lights, the room would actually not have been bad. Now the things outside the hotel's control that completely ruined our stay, our room overlooked the drug den that is Tim Hortons next door. I saw people actively doing drugs in the middle of the day, fights and all sorts of things that my kid wasn't ready to see. This is not the hotel's fault but it made me feel so unsafe that we left the hotel after the first night of what was supposed to be a two night stay. Again, not the hotel's fault but I wish I would have read more reviews about the area.

Our family of 4 stayed for 2 nights. Everyone really enjoyed their time. The staff were very helpful and polite.

Overall good, didn’t have cots, light in the bathroom wasn’t working and they weren’t able to fix it during our stay. Not much lights in the suite. Pool was smaller than expected, but the kids were happy. Nice exercise room. Fairly clean, had a kitchenette and the beds were in a separate room, which was nice.
