Best Western Plus Service Inn & Suites

We enjoyed a terrific stay at the Best Western Plus in Lethbridge. Our room was spacious, comfortable, quiet, and clean. The breakfast provided a good variety of hot and cold options and the 24/7 coffee/hot chocolate station was a hit with our whole family. We spent a lot of time at the pool - the kids loved having a waterslide! Overall, this is a great hotel, especially for families, given the good value, available amenities, and its convenient location.

Our stay was probably the worst stay we had in a hotel not because of the hotel for any reason but to the kids and the parents that can’t teach there children to have respect for other guests running and screaming out till 0100 in the morning

Lots to like about this hotel, but… I have some concerns about the pool area. The pool, slide and hot tub themselves are fine; however, the floor of the pool area is unusually slippery, even for a pool’s floor which are typically somewhat slippery when wet. The material used doesn’t have any qualities that mitigates getting slippery when wet. My spouse was just casually waking and nearly lost her footing between the pool and hot tub and my daughter fell taking a drink at the water fountain and struck her elbow. Neither was being reckless. I’ve felt safer walking on ice than walking around this pool. It ruined the whole experience. I think this is a known condition to the hotel as there has been a non-skid tape placed on the floor, but is now clearly losing its adhesion and, at this point, wasn’t in the areas that needed it most anyway. I think I saw 3 or 4 ‘slippery when wet’ signs around the pool too, which is not a legitimate way to deal with an ongoing deficiency. When I select hotels, when travelling with my family, the pool is a major factor in deciding where to stay. I can honestly say I wouldn’t return just based on this one thing and I wouldn’t recommend anyone planning to use the pool stay here either. No ill will in this review, it’s just a safety thing.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel is situated in an area with other family hotels. It is an industrial area, however, so it is difficult to walk to restaurants. One is being built in the area, but is not open yet. The rooms were clean and well cared for. We would definitely stay here again.

The pool was great and the staff even better. The man behind the desk found some pool toys in the maintenance room for my 4 year old son when we went to the pool to make it extra fun. I really appreciated the extra effort. The rooms were clean and the stay comfortable. The hot breakfast is one of the reasons we stayed here and it was great. So much selection for a family. My only complaint is the eggs were powdered, not fresh. We will stay again.

A lot of kids playing hide and seek in the hallways and knocking on doors at night. You can hear the CP rail train at night.
