Holiday Inn Calgary-Airport, an IHG Hotel

The ac wasn’t working in our room and they came twice to come and “fix” it but it was over 25°C in our room with two kids. I wanted a new room but they didn’t accommodate.

Pictures deceive. Pool is quiet small and hot tub is basic. Unfortunatly it was hard for the average weekend guest to use it due to multiple sports teams taking over the small area. Staff was wonderful. Breakfast was confusing as crazy. Was strictly told at check in that breakfast is not complimentary then got one voucher for 2 audlts and 2 kids on one room but no voucher in our second room that held one adult and one kid. And the extra meal i bought was $20. Wish my kid would have had more than a bowl of cereal lol. Room was beautiful but housekeeping needs to check the small stuff. Ledges full of dust. Mirror in room was filthy. Bathroom was very clean. Property is showing aging for sure in common areas. Elevators where a bit sketchy.

Overall the stay was okay. The first room i stayed in room 402, the phone was not working and also on top of one of the bed there was a dead bug, some sort of spider that was hanging from the ceiling. So i went sown and mentioned it to someone, they said we'll send someone over but no one came so i went down again because the phone did not work. I asked them to switch my room because my kids were scared. They did switch my room at the end.

I would stay here again for sure! The location was great for us, the price was awesome, and the level of cleanliness and customer service was also nice. The breakfast was so worth the price and was a hot buffet style which was a nice change from the standard continentals at other hotels. However, the pool and hot tub could have been better - it’s partly up to guests to ensure they don’t track stuff into the pool but it definitely needed a bit of a water vacuum for the stuff that settles on the ground … but we still went and had fun as we had a little one under 2 with us. The pool was cool temp wise so he didn’t last super long in it, which ended up being a blessing in disguise as it discoloured all of our suits with whatever was in the pool for chemicals! (Suits had all been used in other pools before with no issues). I didn’t want to get fully wet/my hair wet and you can clearly see the water line of where I went to in the water. Intended to talk to front desk but we couldn’t get our room phone to dial down and when I used my cell to call, it just rang and rang (napping kid we didn’t want to wake) and then I totally forgot to mention it when I was down at the front desk about something else. Low water pressure like many hotels but the beds were very comfy and the room was tidy and clean. We had two queens and it had a handy mini bar like area with a sink, microwave, and mini fridge which was really nice to have in the room especially for families.

Parents can go to the gym and at the same time watch the kids swimming in their indoor pool.

The property is maintained and the is central . If you have kids its close to the Calgary Zoo close to the Chook Mall and entertainment.

Hotel seem clean and decent. Just booking online make sure you book the correct hotel because I thought they had a big pool and wayer slide for my kids but wrong hotel. Advertising misleading. Parking is bad at night . Not big enough parking spots

I appreciated that the hot tub and pool were operational. Rooms were clean and comfortable. taff helped to have all our family in rooms close together.

Our stay was amazing, all service that they provided is fresh and clean. My family and are so grateful.
