Holiday Inn Milwaukee Riverfront, an IHG Hotel

Stay was good for what was needed, a night sleep while family member in ICU. Was disappointed as paid extra for breakfast during reservation only to find out there was no hot breakfast available.

My daughter and I were going to stay the night here after seeing Disney on Ice. The hotel was not clean, things were broke in our room, the pool was gross, the restaurant wasn’t open and we did not feel safe. We were going to stay but when we got back from dinner there were four cop cars at the main entrance. This solidified my decision to leave the premise with my child and we did not stay the night…nor would I recommend this place to anyone

Room was dirty, especially bathroom. Water dropped from shower the whole time. Specifically booked this hotel since there was a pool for my kids to swim in and the pool was closed. Staff was rude when I asked them why the pool was closed. Super disappointed that we took a family trip to swim at a hotel and we weren’t even able to swim.

We arrived at the hotel around 4:30pm on August 25th. Check-in went smoothly. When we got to our room, the whole experience changed. The room smelled so bad. There was TP in the toilet and hair on a towel that was hanging. I immediately asked my partner to request another room and we were able to switch rooms to 424. At first it seemed better, so we proceeded to head out to dinner. When we returned the room smelled awful and it was so damp in there. The A/C ran continuously, but didn't seem to cool the room down. I was walking around in my socks getting ready for bed, and my socks were black by the time I got in bed. The couch in the room was filthy too. The rooms all NEED a deep steam cleaning of the carpet, beds, and couch. We went down to breakfast in the morning only to find the room packed with a tour bus full of Brewers fans. When I got up, I packed up my bags and went to my daughters apartment and slept in her basement that night. My partner stayed at the hotel so he could check out in the morning. He filled his cup with coffee and left. As he was driving to meet me he took a sip of his ICE COLD coffee. Apparently leftover from the day before. This 2 night stay cost me $538, which to me is not a cheap hotel stay! I expected a much better experience than I got. This place was no better than a Motel 6, which I haven't stayed at since I was a kid. When I went back and read the reviews, I saw many reviews that mentioned the same things that I just reported.

Hot tub was filthy and foamy. Vacuumed the hallway outside our room at 6:30AM, waking our entire family. Patio was unkept and clearly wasn't maintained. Breakfast was $16 and wasn't even worth $5.

I was upset when we checked in. Incredibly loud, kids jumping everywhere and yelling and I could not hear the hostess Checking us in. It was terrible. It was almost like the families at the tables by the entrance drinking by the bar let their kids run wild. Horrible. We asked about the pool. Closes at 10. Didn’t tell us breakfast was closed at 9 so we didn’t get to eat there as planned. Went to sit in hot tub but the water was very disgusting. Had a film over the top and was yellow and VERY frothy and dirty. The pool was so cloudy you could not see the bottom. Gross. I was very disappointed.

Staff is very underwhelmed about working there so the service sucked. We paid for breakfast for 2 adults for 2 nights. First night the food was an hour and half late coming out and the lady was shouting to get back away from her while she prepared it. The next day it was not ready again and when we asked about it, the lady started yelling at us telling us we better go ask someone in the back and she's doing it all alone. So we did not get the breakfast we paid for. There was no microwave in the room, and when we asked the front desk, they said we had to request it before our stay, never heard of this at Holiday Inn. There was one small elevator being utilized constantly, which made it difficult to get up and down with luggage from the 5th floor. The pool was always crowded with kids and teenagers goofing off. Could not get food at the restaurant because a few people called out sick or went home (this is what the staff told us). Make sure the washers and dryers are working before use, one dryer was broken. Overall, I would not recommend this particular Holiday Inn.

I love this hotel. I chose this hotel because it was close to the family I was visting. The only downfall is that the walls are thin and I heard little things like my neighbor opening their curtains and everything going on in the hallway.

We have stayed at this Holiday Inn before, so we already knew the rooms are very small and the hotel is very noisy. Our complaint this time was the pool area. It was totally disgusting and I can’t even believe it was open. The pool was ice cold, and yet the entire area was so steamy that you could barely see from one end of the pool to the other. There was condensation everywhere and water dripping from the ceiling, as well as paint peeling from the walls and ceiling. I wanted to go in the jacuzzi, but there was globs of dirt, hair, and some pink liquid floating on the top. Absolutely disgusting. When the jacuzzi was turned off, you could see brown scum all over the floor and sides. I gave no idea the last time that thing was cleaned. To top it off, the door leaving the pool area was jammed, probably because everything was soaking wet. I actually panicked thinking I was going to be locked in there. Of note, there were never any towels. I went to the front desk and asked for towels for my grandkids. The lady at the desk said they can’t keep towels in the pool because “the damn kids keep taking them all.” Not impressed with her attitude. Will definitely rethink staying here again.

Overall the I like the property being that it was my first time booking at this location. There were some things that could have been better that I will be calling the hotel directly about but overall I would likely recommend. The pool area was very stuffy and cloudy the floors were very wet as well to where it was very easy to slip and fall even when walking. When I first got to the room I can say besides they're not being enough personal hygiene things to accommodate my overnight stay in the bathroom or the amount of people in the room with me. The front desk was very understanding when I did call to be accommodated but I also want to mention that a few children that stayed with me overnight did get sick they could have kept up better with the pool area and a few other areas in the hotel in general.
