Very clean! Super comfortable beds, I slept like a baby!

I stayed at this hotel last minute due to a death in the family. The staff was very kind, and professional, the hotel was clean and well maintained by the staff. While the property is dated and could use enhancements, I could tell the staff kept up daily to keep things clean, functional and friendly. There was snow most days during the stay, and the staff made sure to keep up with the exterior as well as the lobby. We loved the warm and clean pool/hot tub, and found the complimentary breakfast above average.

pool got contaminated...puts stress on the kids

It was me, my husband, and our two young kids. We went to see the lights and to cabelas so we stayed here for one night. The hot tub was great! Pool was very warm, refreshing because usually pools are cold. We got up late, but the staff let us eat breakfast at the very end of breakfast time and even offered to make more food. They were awesome! We loved our stay!

Yes the hotel could use updated but for the price it is indeed a very nice place to stay it’s not as some make it out to be, Staff is very nice and friendly. Yes its in a remote area but things to do are not far away at all, breakfast was just basic but if it was running low staff refilled it. The only complaint I would say was the heater unit in 201 was a little annoying with the rattling and not a great view from the window but if ever I’m back in wheeling to visit family again I would definitely stay in that hotel and that same room again. Thank You staff.

Absolutely hated this hotel!! Very very trashy!! Bed and curtains had tons of stains. No inner shower curtain liner, so water got ALL over the floor, HUGE safety hazard!! The bathtub wouldn’t drain properly so it filled up while showering. Had to ask for towels several times. Housekeeping never came. My partner and i got cat called by many men outside. Had people shake our door handle. Didn’t feel safe whatsoever!! Absolutely don’t go here if you’re a young women, it’s kinda in the middle of nowhere on a hill. Staff wasn’t the kindest either, quite dismissive. Pool area was very dirty. Not the hotels fault but the other guests staying there was simply unbearable. Tons of children running around by the pool unattended splashing people. I was unfortunately hit in the face by one throwing a ball. Spend a bit more money and go down the road!! Beyond disappointed with our stay. Wouldn’t recommend this hotel to anyone.

This hotel was close of the highway on a trip NYC, however when I checked the girl at the front desk question why I was checking in asking “ if I was passing by” She was nice enough to tell me about breakfast and that the bar was still open. I didn’t like the set up of the hotel and we were on the 1st floor. This hotel seems more for truckers coming through or stopping by I just didn’t like the feeling. I decided to leave the room and go a few miles up and found another hotel were me and my family would feel better.

Excellent stay. Staff was helpful and friendly, room clean and comfortable, pool and hot tub an awesome getaway for the family. Lots of unique family adventures in the area. Good Zoo, a train museum, caverns, and even a Bison farm less than an hour away where you can feed and touch a bison. So Cool! We'll definitely be back to check out more adventures in the summer.

The room is a little outdated but clean. The toilet paper and toiletries were almost out when we got into the room. Staff is very nice. Breakfast was ok. The pool is clean and nice and my kids loved it.

This is such a run down hotel. Our room had mold in the bathtub and the stench you got when you walked in the door was enough to knock you down. It was horrible!! Hard to describe…something like wet dog meets musty clothes. I should’ve complained and asked for another room but it’s hard for me to do that. I like to pick hotels with breakfasts for our family. However, this breakfast was not good. The coffee was not drinkable. Actually, I wouldn’t give it to my worst enemy. They had eggs and sausage-not good. I have celiac so the rest of the carb heavy spread was not for me. I did manage to get a banana. We stayed two nights but didn’t bother doing breakfast on the second day. Please save your money.
