Delta Hotels by Marriott Huntington Downtown

I made reservations and thought us and our friends would be beside each other when we checked in. But nope!! There was some crazy kids out back boxing I guess that’s what it was. It was loud. I had to call front desk to get taken care of. This was addressed within 15 minutes.

I stay here whenever I am in town to visit family/friends. It's clean, quiet, close to great restaurants and Starbucks is within walking distance. I highly recommend.

I hate to leave a bad review for the hotel, because it wasn't actually the hotel that ruined our mini vacation when we stayed with Delta Marriot Huntington downtown, however was ruined by tow truck drivers that stalk the parking at this location. I saw "Nicelys" towing violently jerk a car from it's parking spot, wheels locked, car jumping from side to side as they dragged it very unprofessionally. I was looking for a parking spot as GUESTS OF THE HOTEL, and showed my parking pass to Nicelys towing service, and the driver proceeded to scream at the top of his lungs at me and tell me my parking pass that I had been issued was invalid, which was a bold face lie by him. He is proceeded to block me into my parking spot, told me if I parked that he would tow me whether I was a registered guest or not. I pulled back and forth trying to get my car sideways so I could try to escape from this driver and he proceeded to pull up and block me into the spot again. We were terrified, and my 8 year old child was in tears I'm the back seat from this tow driver blocking us and screaming at us. Luckily one of the front desk workers was outside on break and I was able to get his attention and he was then able to get the tow truck driver to leave me alone and let me pull out and get away from nicelys. They had absolutely no reason to block my vehicle from leaving, we had severe anxiety and fear of even parking as a guest at this hotel. As a result of this, I would not ever return to this hotel

I booked this hotel because it had the 3 things I needed for my one night stay: a pool for the kids, a bar for me and my friends, and a breakfast. The pool was closed for maintenance so I had to drive my kids to the Barboursville location where they did allow us to swim. I thank you for that. It was late when we returned so we ate dinner at bar. We had a nice time at the bar that evening. We continued to hang out there after it closed to chat. At 1:30 am, we were asked to leave as we may or may not be disturbing other guests on the second floor. I don’t know if that is possible with the heating/cooling units in the room but whatever. We asked if we could hang out in the lobby then and we were told that that was not the purpose of the lobby either. So we left and went to a local bar. When we returned, our key was not working. We went to front desk and we were given new ones. Again, they did not work. Rode down in an elevator that started shaking….scary. The guy walked us back to our room to let us in and his key wouldn’t work. Stood in hallway while he went to get some contraption that slid under door to grab doorknob. It woke my mom up as she thought someone was trying to break in and she let us in. Went to breakfast the next morning at 10. Sign says breakfast is open until 11…we were greeted with “we’re getting ready to shut down for the morning so nothing new will be placed out, but there should be enough there for you to find something.” Good morning to you too!
