Holiday Inn Express Tacoma South Lakewood, an IHG Hotel

My whole issue was check in i was there checking in for more then 1hr with toddlers in a car waiting if ur a parents you know how that goes Hotel said hotel.com didn't make my reservation even though i had a email with the confirmation number they made me call hotels.com to try and figure out the issue which i did and they said they fixed it but once againg Robert in the reception area said the card for payment hotels.com provided did not work and made me call back again he had a annoyed look while having to deal with my whole situation which i think if Holiday inn and Hotels.com are affiliated maybe they should have better communication on taking care of these issues i have to say this is the 1st time i have ever had this problem which i mentioned to Robert and he said it had happened to them with another customer back to what i said maybe u guys need to get to Hotels.com and figure out whats going on instead of having the customer calling back and forth for more then a hr in the lobby i didn't get the room i had paid for and when asked for a crib they told me they could not provide me one because only house keeping does that also 1st time ive ever been told this in no way did Robert at hotel lobby try to accommodate us or make it easier for my family to get in there not sure what the hotels policy is but some customer courtesy or being a bit helpful would of been nice instead of just looking annoyed to have to deal with me..

It was really great experience for my family and I. Great location, clean and quiet .

When we arrived at the hotel, there were people in the front doing drugs and houseless people loitering. We have young kids and they were worried. The swimming pool was out of service. People were roaming inside and outside of the hotel. We did not check in and left to look for another hotel.

I was there to take care of a death in the family and spent just a little bit of time in the room but there's a few issues I had, just didn't have time to let them know about it till the night before we left. 1.). The air in the main room didn't work, but it was cool enough outside to not be a huge problem 2.) I had gotten the one with jetted hot tub... Well I will save you the hour and 15 minutes of fill up time.. And let you know, it's barely had any ummph.. Even on high. Definitely not worth the wait. 3.) for guys, the toilet seat would not stay up, so I had to do the leg out to hold the lid. Had it been a typical trip, I'd probably have gotten at least #1 and #3 fixed right away and the staff was super friendly. Over all not a bad stay, just a few issues that probably need addressing. I let them know so hopefully they do.

Front desk staff are top notch! The room was perfect for my family. Even the pull out bed was comfortable.

All of the staff has been exceptional, the hotel was full of kids and they handled it beautifully.

There was a mixup with my prepaid reservation. At least three times someone tried to enter my room. I kept getting woken up with employees knocking on my door even though I was on the phone for an hour working out the details of the reservation. I was fighting the flu at the same time. Needless to say my stay could have been better. The rooms and carpet need refreshing. The decor is dated in these areas. Breakfast and good coffee was the saving grace. I could hear the kids in the pool two floors up. I’m on day two back home and just starting to feel the exhaustion subside.

The pool was nasty, the hotub broken. Fire alarm went off for 4 hrs of our stay, and they didn't know what the problem was. There wasn't enough breakfast for my family- like they ran out of food, yet we paid for breakfast to be included.

Staff at front counter were excellent. The carpet in the room could have been vacuumed a lot better. There was previous occupants hair and visual dirt on the carpet. We had a infant with us and that it didn’t sit well with us to allow her play on the floor.

I am from out of state; I stayed at this property and I recommend this hotel or property to everyone; great staff; very clean; great location, close to fwy; great for families.
