Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Tacoma Downtown, an IHG Hotel

We have stayed at this hotel many of times, and honestly it’s usually our go-to hotel because it had an indoor pool, great parking, awesome staff, and a great breakfast every morning, however they are currently remodeling and I wasn’t aware of this and they are supposedly getting rid of their pool which is so sad and my kids are now super bummed. We might have to adjust where we stay because the pool was a huge reason we always booked here and now if it’s gone that’s just a bummer.

Dont trust Expedia with certain amenities. We specifically chose this Hotel because of a pool and continental breakfast. They no longer have a pool. Really put a drag on our plans with our kids. Ive learned I need to call and verify moving forward. Hotel and staff were great otherwise.

On their website it read indoor pool. My grandkids were very excited but when we checked in I was told the pool was closed and it has been closed for quite awhile. If I knew before I would have stayed somewhere where else. This is clearly false advertising. Secondly, the beds were extremely uncomfortable. You actually sunk in them. I am 76 and have arthritis so my sleep was off and on and woke up with soreness and back pain. We, all also had to have our key cards rekeyed. The night clerk said, it could demagnetize, I know she missed keyed them. She didn’t even say she was sorry. The room was clean. Shower had good pressure. The breakfasts were very good. I believe I should be compensated for the false advertisement.

Pros: Clean, nice breakfast selection, even though there was expired milk cartons in the breakfast refrigerator by 3 days! Walk in shower was nice. Cons: Construction noise; drilling, hammering, down to 1 elevator working. (They are changing to be a Hilton). Wish we knew ahead of time! No post until we checked in. Could not take a nap yesterday due to drilling, etc. No microwave in room. You have to go down to the lobby and use the microwave. Very inconvenient! The smell of Marijuana wafting thru our hallway and also outside lobby. Also, I wished there was more attentiveness in breakfast area. A couple children came in barefoot and the boy, about 7 y.o., was touching all the food, utensils, etc., and coughing and sneezing over the food. Parent was not doing anything to reprimand. Glad we had gotten our food already. I think they should give a discount for the construction noise alone. I won't stay there again. We have always had good luck with the Holiday Inn Expresses, but definitely not this time.

This hotel was great! Our kids loved staying the night. It was very clean and comfortable. The kids also enjoyed all the great breakfast options. We would gladly stay again.

This was a convenient hotel to stay at close to our Tacoma family. I liked that there were a couple of restaurants in walking distance that we could get dinner after our late check-in. The room was comfortable, and we appreciated the small kitchenette area (sink/mini fridge/microwave) small table & chair set. We were pretty disappointed with the breakfast, as the quality did not taste good to us at all. We even went out to breakfast the 2nd day for a decent breakfast. Also, the interactions we had with the front desk felt really cold and uncaring. However, we enjoyed our stay in Tacoma overall.

The hotel met my family’s needs. We had a great reunion.

Nice upgrade at check-in, but it went downhill after that. We had noisy people above us, and management said they couldn't do anything about it. Sounded like kids jumping off beds or furniture...from about 6 am until almost midnight. Ruined our stay.

Pay for the parking! One of our party did street parking and had their window smashed. The hotel itself was great. Staff was SO kind and helpful and there are several tap rooms and pizza places within close walking distance. The pool was a decent temperature so the grandchildren had a blast.

Very clean. Breakfast was excellent. Closed garage so you don't worry about someone breaking in your vehicle. I would stay again and recommend this place to friends and family. Thank you for my first experience in Washington. Best trip here, I enjoyed the evergreen state.
