WorldMark Long Beach

We came from out of state to Long Beach for a special family trip. I booked a king suite with a balcony at Worldmark Long Beach a few months ago. Worldmark waited until the day we were to check in to let us know our reservations were cancelled and we'd need to get with Hotels.com to find something else. My husband asked the staff why this happened, and they said it's because they've actually been booked out through October and it's Hotels.com's fault for letting us book in the first place. Hotels.com then booked us in a comparable room at Chataqua Resort & Conference Center, but it took 2 hours on the phone to complete, which took time away from my family to enjoy the beach. The nice gentleman at the front desk at Chautauqua let us know that they get people who've had reservations canceled by WorldMark all the time because they give priority to their timeshare holders who decide to book at the last minute, so it's not really not the fault of Hotels.com. There is a disconnect between Hotels.com and the hotels themselves, though. Once my new booking was complete at Chautauqua, the guy at the front desk told us that my chosen room wasn't actually available, either, because Hotels.com sees a deluxe room available and considers them all the same, but they really aren't - at least at Chautauqua. Luckily he found another room for us that was still comparable and worked out perfectly.

Great place for family, accommodations are set up well. lots to keep the kiddos busy short walk to the beach trail close by also !

Beware this property routinely overbooks and will cancel your reservation without any notice. We arrived after a 6 hour drive to a cancelled reservation, no room and zero assistance from the property manager. I was left stranded in the evening with two small children. Book somewhere else. Luckily i booked through expedia and their customer service found us somewhere to stay. However, it was 30 miles away and not at all the vacation we booked.

Rooms/kitchenettes were wonderful and sufficient for a family of 6. Propane BBQ on the porch. Washer/dryer in unit. The pool was heated and the jacuzzi was really nice. There was a heated wading pool for young ones. Staff was friendly and helpful. Short walk or drive to everything including beach, shopping and dining. Best stay I’ve had in a long time. They offer timeshare/vacation club presentations but don’t pressure you to go to them. I will definitely be going again.

Great place to walk to restaurants and the beautiful beach and boardwalk. All staff were very friendly and tried to be accommodating. The TV options were horrible, the remote didn’t work well and if you used your phone as the remote there was no tv guide. If we had brought kids I would not return because of this. We were told check in time was 4pm, our room was not ready until 6 pm. It was the hottest day of the year - opted to walk on the beach during our wait, but missed our dinner reservation. There was someone’s half empty water bottle in the fridge and the lotion supplied was obviously used. I want to chalk all of this up to how busy they must have been because of Mothers Day. It also happened to be my birthday so the circumstances to say the least was disappointing.

The room was very nice, with more than enough space to accommodate our family of 4. It was clean and comfortable. The in unit laundry was a BIG plus with 2 kids. The pool area was very nice. My boys loved it. I’d say the only drawback is the “no dogs”policy, which meant my mom had to stay in another Hotel with her dog.
