Overview

The MarQueen Hotel offers a unique experience for families, combining historic charm with modern amenities. While some guests have noted that the building's age contributes to noise and potential accessibility challenges (lack of elevator), many families appreciate its character and convenient location. The hotel's friendly and helpful staff consistently receive praise, and some rooms include handy kitchenettes. While on-site amenities may be limited, its proximity to attractions makes it a great base for exploring. Families should be aware that parking can be limited and may require street parking, and that not all rooms offer pull-out couches.

The hotel itself is cool, because of its history. But the charm quickly fades. We booked this hotel last minute for a stop on our way back home, we had a baby with us so i wanted something with a kitchenette/other area for his crib. I thought this area was separate, it does not have a door so not separate. On expedia the property boasts parking available, but in reality its a small lot underneath with no room for anything bigger than an suv, so if you are traveling with a larger vehicle your only option is street parking and the area is kinda sketchy so we were worried the entire time our truck would get broken into. Additionally, after booking (the nonrefundable room) we recieved an email telling us that as an historic building it does not have an elevator. Which normally wouldnt bother me but this trip we had someone with mobility issues so going uo stairs with lots of baby bags was an issue. Would be nice if we knew that ahead of time! Small things- generally run down a bit, and all of the wall sockets were old so our chargers kept falling out, The place is just old so its noisy/creaky. Fine if you are traveling alone or without kids, but definitely do NOT recommend for families!

We checked in at 2AM and checked out at 9AM. Had it not been 2AM when we arrived, we would not have checked in at all. Immediately we noticed an overwhelming musty smell that was terrible even in the room. This smell made two of our family members ill forcing us to find other accommodations. We travel a lot and often choose historical boutique hotels but have never had an experience like this. We asked for an exception to cancellation policy but hotel management refused. We understand and respect policy but believe that more honest reviews of this hotel are needed as anyone with allergies or those prone to migraines need to avoid this hotel!! Further, the room did not look anywhere near as charming as the photos. We didn’t take any because we left as soon as possible.

We are a family of four with kids ages 6 and 9. The staff were friendly and helpful, and we appreciated the on-site parking. The hotel itself has a lot of character, which we loved. It was a convenient walk to the Space Needle from the hotel. We would stay here again!

We have been staying here for 15 years, maybe 2-3 times a year. Staff is great. Old building, thin walls, bathrooms could use an update, but we love the charm, location and staff. Great coffee shop attached to building and valet parking is 100% worth it. We are a family with kids and the kids love it as well.

We have been staying at the Marqueen for over 30 years. This visit was very disappointing. We have always stayed in a room with a king bed and a pull-out couch for our adult daughter. We were told there were no more pull-out couches in the rooms. We were given a room with two queen beds. There happened to be a pull-out couch in the room but no bedding for it and they still charged us for a third person. The management over the past four years promised big changes but they were all for the worst. The so-called remodel was just a paint job. We understand the building is old and the plumbing leaks and the floors creak but we don’t have a problem with that. The rooms are big enough to put it new pull-out couches to accommodate families. They seem to be propping up The Tin Lizzie (which never seems to have many people in it.)at the expense of hotel amenities. There were no bathrobes and no newspapers. The staff was pleasant and room reasonably clean but the hotel itself isn’t like it used to be.

Room was spacious, kitchen area had a few dishes, bathroom was ok. We enjoyed the location as we could walk to the arena near by , but says kid friendly and it was not. The only things there were a BAR, hair stylist and a closed spa. Not even a place for children to get food. Most the staff was super friendly.

Unique and charming older building, very friendly and accommodating staff. There is no elevator so it can be challenging for some, but my family loved our stay and would definitely stay there again.

If you are looking for a historic hotel, this is it! Service and location were excellent. Not all rooms may have this, but ours had a kitchenette that was a great feature for our family's visit.
