Candlewood Suites Vancouver-Camas, an IHG Hotel

Everything was great. Room was clean and comfortable and the staff was very accommodating. I even received a phone call upon my return home from the staff addressing an observation that I had made about the room as I was checking out. I will stay here again when I go to visit my family in the area.

I recently stayed at this wonderful place with my four kids, and it turned out to be the perfect choice for us. The cleanliness, tranquility, and overall safety of the location made our stay truly enjoyable. The staff played a significant role in making our experience outstanding. They were incredibly friendly, ensuring we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The convenience of having a full kitchen and a refrigerator in our room was a blessing, especially when traveling with four children. It allowed us to prepare and store meals easily, making the trip much more convenient and cost-effective. Without a doubt, we're already planning to return to this amazing place for our future vacations. The positive memories and exceptional service have left a lasting impression, and we can't wait to come back.

For myself and my toddler, my husband got us a room and I wanted to check out the hotel before my parents came. Being 34 week pregnant I requested an accessible room. Checking in, a man was at the desk, and he said he wasn’t front desk. A brunette girl comes much later, asking what I want casually she checks me in. Not the usual professional greeting. She told me I could see another room- and it was 109. Right behind the front desk. I quickly peeked in and I told her no I’ll need the room I wanted originally. But she reassured it was better and bigger room. So tired me said sure. The first night, I found out the power outlet for the kitchen didn’t work. And the bathroom vent was quiet, I thought it wasn’t working. And then the heater/ac stuck on 68 that felt much cooler blowing cold air. In the morning, I took a shower and it triggered the fire alarm. I panicked and got myself ready with toddler. 10 minutes later front desk and another lady came to our room, and agent said, “oh there was a complaint of fire in your room by other guests.” And the other lady said, “did you just take a shower?”’I said yes, I did and she said, “oh it’s from the steam from the shower triggering the alarm. Did you use the vent?” I didn’t think it was working. And I had the window open as well. Never had that before! I told about heater/ac to fix. When I went out with toddler, came back, I was yelled out by same brunette agent, “hey, hey you!” Then she said my door lock broke. Wow!

Not bad. It wasn’t luxurious or anything but I wasn’t expecting luxury. I didn’t love that the fridge rattled ALL NIGHT LONG when the motor was running and that the air conditioner had a screeching sound when it started up each time. Multiple rooms close by had very loud people. Someone was screaming at their children maybe at like 2am? Anyways, it was a place to sleep (albeit fitfully) and I had a kitchen to cook breakfast in the morning. Was it superb as the ratings suggested? Absolutely not. Was it adequate so I didn’t have to drive all night long? Yes. Will I stay here again on the way though? Probably not. I think I can get better quality for my money elsewhere.
