Holiday Inn Express & Suites - Thornburg, S. Fredericksburg, an IHG Hotel

We received a call several days before our reservation, asking if we realized the room we booked had only a bed and a chair? They noticed we mentioned two children in our reservation and would we like a room with one bed and a hide-a-bed sofa? Amazing! I had booked online and inadvertently clicked on the wrong room. The staff was knowledgeable, personable, and helpful, a real rarity these days.

We had the best stay here! Jojo was amazing at check in…friendly, knowledgeable, and patient. She answered all my questions. The room itself was huge (we had one with a pull out couch), clean, and comfortable. Shower pressure was excellent. Room was quiet. Breakfast the next morning was wonderful for my family with 3 teenagers. Eggs, sausage, pancakes, biscuits and gravy, cereal, and an array of sweets, fruit, and yogurt. Something for everyone. I especially loved the to go bags so we could take a muffin or two with us on the go. I was also given a tray when asked to take breakfast and drinks upstairs to the teens who couldn’t get up in time. Overall one of the best stays we have had as we travel quite a bit to go to Kings Dominion often. Will definitely be back!

This was ideal for a sleep over to meet up with family member with children

Stayed here with my family of 5 for a quick stopover on my way down south. Hotel was very clean and front desk staff were friendly and accommodating. Room was much larger than a standard hotel room. There’s a nice Dairy Queen within walking distance. The only (extremely minor) drawback is the hotel is so close to I95 that you sometimes hear cars driving by overnight. I would recommend this hotel.

The hotel is VERY close to i95 (50yards or so?) which is convienient to travel but truck and traffic noise can be an issue to some people who are light sleepers. We were able to put the window unit on to drown out the noise so it was ok. Overall: everything worked, food was good, kids enjoyed the pool and it was a clean hotel so the experience was good.
