Holiday Inn Oceanside- VA Beach, an IHG Hotel

The hotel was great! We are a family of 4 and the room was great size. The room was clean, staff were friendly and helpful. Perfect location. We felt safe our entire stay. And the valet guys were amazing! Highly recommend! Definitely will stay here every year from now on. The restaurant is also amazing the burgers were the best!

Our family stayed for 5 nights, and the room location, convenience and onsite restaurant were all fabulous! Another family member also booked a suite room (with a small kitchenette), which was also fantastic! Parking does tend to get full very quickly, especially during weekends. This limited our plans to drive anywhere out of fear that we'd return to no spots available. Valet parking was available, and often inconvenient because it blocked the flow of traffic through the parking lot. The food in onsite restaurant, Hemmingways, was fantastic, and a really great deal - especially when you took advantage of the kids under 12 eat free and the daily specials they offered! Fantastic hotel - with amazing staff! Thanks for a great stay!

This property was right along the shore which was convenient for us as a family to walk across to the beach

The hotel room was very clean with an excellent location near several kid friendly activities. All of the hotel staff was extremely friendly, helpful with questions, and prompt when we needed towels for the room. Being able to text the front desk for service was a bonus. The room appeared to be fairly recently remodeled. It would've been nice to have more hooks in the bathroom for a place to hang used towels and a couple more chairs in the pool area. The oceanfront view from the balcony was amazing! The heated pool was a decent temperature and not freezing. The fitness room was nice. The breakfast and dinner at the restaurant was also good with gluten free options. Finding out that kids eat free was a pleasant surprise!

The hotel itself was wonderful. Great facility, staff, and room. Great room layout, lots of hotels don’t offer in room microwaves these days but this hotel did. It was quiet and very little noise transfer between rooms for us. And best of all right on the beach with spectacular view. The only downside was the surrounding activity during our stay - it’s on 21st. There was a near riot one night we were there with hundreds of young kids swarming the block. A dozen police cars literally right in front of the hotel. Officers all over the place on high alert and things seemed just barely under control. It was nerve wracking trying to get from the off site parking lot (which is very close) to the hotel in the middle of that. And it definitely wasn’t safe to go walking on the boardwalk or visit any of the shops on Atlantic Ave that evening. As far as the hotel itself it was one of the best we have stayed in a long time - but mixed feelings about the safety of the block. I feel like if you stay at a much higher or lower block number this would not be an issue.

Nicer than I expected. The hotel is updated and rooms were very clean. The area is geared towards families.

We spent Labor Day holiday weekend at the Holiday Inn Virginia Beach. The room was nice and super clean with a beautiful view of the ocean. At the breakfast buffet, some people were wearing pajamas or night gowns and some had bare feet, it was kind of gross and there didn't seem to be any basic dress code.Some people were pillaging the bakery section to stock up for the day, leaving others with nothing. We did not go back for breakfast the next day. The indoor swimming pool had a couple who were acting intimately with kids around them and there didn't seem to be any published guidelines (or supervision) to prevent them from doing so. The worst thing we encountered was an incident that took place when we were having lunch at the patio when a mentally disturbed man came to the outdoor section of the restaurant, which apparently has unrestricted access, from the boardwalk. He came physically close to my young children and I had to get the staff's attention until they came and moved him on.

Not enough onsite parking. Not enough drawer space in my room. Other family members had a six drawer dresser, we did not! No towel bars in the bathroom. If I could hang towels to dry I would not have needed so many - not good for a hotel trying to be green!

I stayed here with my husband and 2 kids 2 and 7. We arrived after a very long drive with lots of traffic and road closures. We ended up calling the hotel to get directions and Robert was so nice to like at train patterns and give us alternate routes. When we arrived I self parked ( very easy). Checked in with Lee, who was so kind and even signed me up for rewards. This location was perfect, in the middle of everything. Walkable strip, beach! I would absolutely visit again!

We stayed for the wknd of Easter. Check-in: It was very quick and easy and no wait. Parking and location: It was straight ahead off of 264 and on 21st and very easy to find. Parking was plentiful right in front of the hotel and they also have extra parking behind clothing store that was across the street from the hotel. Room: We were on the 7th floor. I felt that their room was a tad smaller than some of the room that we stay at other hotel but that’s just my opinion. The one thing I really love about our stay was that our floor was very quiet thru our days and nights. Pool: Typical indoor pool with a small water fall at one end and thru out our stay, it was mostly children that was in the pool. Hemingway’s: It was a very nice restaurant facing the ocean. We have a breakfast voucher with our stay and we ate there for breakfast. Breakfast was ok and it was a buffet style and they have a little bit of everything but the staff was very friendly and they kept the breakfast area clean and tidy. Overall, I will definitely stay there again but we will go in the summer time. This was our first time going to Virginia Beach and I just wanted to see how it is. The times that we were there, we couldn’t walk on the boardwalk or play in the sand because it was raining and cold that wknd.
