Sleep Inn & Suites Stony Creek - Petersburg South

The staff were friendly and helpful but the property seems a bit in disrepair. We were told we could not have a first floor room because all the TV's were broken and, since we were traveling with a child, they wanted to give us a room that had a functioning tv. That said, our 2nd floor room tv was not working either. The ice machine on the first floor was not working and the staff stated that sometimes it did and sometimes it did not which made it seem like an ongoing problem. The only other ice machine was on the third floor on the opposite end of the hall from the elevator so you had some distance to go to get to it. The 3rd floor a/c was not working in the hallways so it was quite hot and stuffy up there. Our room was quite comfortable and decorated very well. My only issue with the room was that the tub and fixtures in the bathroom appeared dingy and old. Also, as mentioned, the TV did not work. The beds were comfortable and the ac was cold and the room was clean. The breakfast is stated as continental but they do have hot food options like waffles and something that would have been in a chafing warmer but on the day we were there, no hot food was available because the employee responsible was late and not there in time to have it ready.

It was very good and staff very family

Checkin @ front desk - fine Room - 5 of10 Few lights, and all on 1 side of room - desk had no direct light! - 1 lamp over bed did not work spacious (King), Comfortable bed - would have preferred 2 full size pillows rather than 6 or 8 little ones. Building seemed in need of repair: - door handle hung oddly at first use; - towel shelf in both room was tilted; - the waffle-maker almost came apart ; BUT - Breakfast was very good, with fluffy, excellent scrambled eggs and Biscuits, and the aforementioned waffles, of course; - the shower was strong and plenty hot; - after coaxing it once or twice, the door handle worked as it was supposed to.

It was a pleasant stay. No problems. We were just driving through, and we were satisfied. Price was right. The pool was cold, but the kids went in anyway. Breakfast was fine.

TSleep In in Stony Creek is the perfect stop for us when traveling back to PA to see family. Always consistent with their service. Breakfast could use some improvement but we realize it is a "no frill" hotel. Room comfort is always good.
