Hampton Inn Petersburg-Ft. Lee

What bothers me the most is that nowhere, neither hotels.com nor on the Hilton site, was it mentioned or advertised that this hotel is under construction. Had I known, I would’ve chosen another. Instead, I paid full-price for a very disappointing experience. I feel bad for the (very friendly) staff, who have to work in a dusty construction zone and constantly face surprised guests, few of whom were aware of what they were walking into. In several spots throughout the hotel, there are gentle signs like, “please pardon our dust!” Or “bear with us while we make this hotel beautiful for you!” The signs felt insulting…this is a major construction zone that I never would’ve chosen had I been informed up front. My family and I woke up with red, itchy eyes and coughing. There was no hot breakfast, no lobby, no business center. Yes the rooms are renovated, but unfortunately ours was dirty. Just an overall really disappointing experience that could’ve been avoided altogether. To Hilton: advertise that this is under construction and offer a discount to guests to stay. You’ll avoid all these justified 1-star reviews.

Under construction. We booked because of the pool for the kids after their softball tournament. Wasn’t available. Need to just close the whole hotel down during the renovation

We were quiet pleased with our stay at this hotel. We were greeted as if we were family. the staff could not have been more receptive to our wants. The hotel was clean, the elevators were quick, the coffee delicious. You will not be disappointed staying here.

It was only a one night stay, but it was comfortable and served its purpose. Our kids slept through the night and it was clean. There is nothing to do near by though. Breakfast was pleasant. We would stay here again.

This Hampton Inn is several miles from the interstate, but worth the drive. You wouldn't want to stay close to the interstate anyway; very sketchy area! EAT AT NANNY'S RESTAURANT while there! Wonderful home cooked food, family run for 26 years! We can't wait to go back!

Our stay at this hotel was perfect! It was clean, easy to find and located near everything. The staff was friendly and helpful. This will be our choice when we visit family in the future.
