I came into town to visit family and needed a place for my fiance and I to stay. When booking I noticed they had a room with a double jacuzzi tub, so I booked it. We had a long drive and the jacuzzi tub was nice after a long day of driving. Thank you for going the extra mile for that extra bonus touch.
The check-in through email was super convenient and easy. Such an easy hotel to work with and the staff was so polite.

I have used Microtel hotels at other places and was pretty happy with those. Unfortunately this one in Harrisonburg VA has shattered the image of Microtel. Such a dirty hotel with sticky carpets. The room had a terrible odor that I couldn’t sleep the whole night. I arrived at 12:30am and when asked to change the room all that I was offered was another room with a single queen bed (for a family of 4), or cancel the reservation. The front desk staff that night seemed least concerned about the issue. Never booking this again!

We were greeted by Julie who did a terrific job of making us feel welcome. I suffer from a severe anxiety condition and frankly, this is the quietest hotel stay I ever remember (and I've had a lot of hotel stays in my 60 years). They also welcomed a visit from my son and his family. The pool was fun --- crystal clear, very clean, very quiet and enjoyable. Thanks, Microtel, for a great stay!

It was a bed and shower. Rooms are small. If I need a bed on the road just for me, definitely. Not someplace I would take the family for a vacation.

Adjacent property was a trash hotel that had people cat calling my wife while with my kid, so they couldn't use the Nasty pool located on the property. It was full of debris, so bad on two notes... asked for a complementary toothbrush since my kid lost his, $5 in vending machine.. breakfast was nasty too. Trash hotel pay more and stay somewhere else.

We are a family of 7 and had 2 double-queen rooms and everyone was pleased to see the cushioned windowseats, because the two youngest claimed those for sleeping and then the other 3 kids each had a queen bed to themselves! The adjoining rooms were very helpful. It was quiet overnight, and we liked that the Cracker Barrel was right in the parking lot, but the area in general felt a little run-down. They do not have an exercise room, so I walked laps around the parking lot, as the streets had no sidewalk system. The floor of one of the rooms had a good-sized sticky place on the carpet, but seemed clean otherwise. Breakfast had sausage, eggs, biscuits and gravy, toast, yogurt, I think some bananas, cereal. Didn't get to use the outdoor pool much because it was drizzling.

The upside…The staff are lovely. Breakfast was included although Holiday Inn does a much better spread. The hotel is 2 miles from JMU. Lots of convenience options in the area and not even a 4 mile drive from downtown Harrisonburg. The price was right for a last minute, hastily booked stay.
The downside…The hotel rooms were clean, but dated and falling apart. The bathroom tiles were loose and if you were not careful were at risk of cutting your foot. The bathroom was just kind of gross. It had been cleaned but the tile behind the toilet looked like mud or something worse was holding them in place. Towels were thread bare. The light fixture above one of the beds looked like it was falling off the wall. And the beds! My husband and I are not picky but we agreed that we could feel every single spring pressing into our bodies. The pillows were flat as if they’d never been replaced. The hallway outside the room was musky. One of my kids also pointed out that the elevator inspection certificate expired in 2021.

Nosiey from road traffic, limited parking. The bathroom floor tile infant of the toilet was broken and loss. The toilet sits very low and the floor grout is dirty.
