Wingate by Wyndham Richmond Short Pump

I stayed here 2x (July 25-26 and Aug 8-9) as my family is making a cross country move and this is the halfway point. The 2nd time, I booked the wrong dates, which was my fault, so when I arrived I paid for a new booking. I still had the reservation for the wrong date, so I tried to change the date to when we would be coming down to close on our old house (Aug 27-28). I did book 3rd party, but I called both the hotel and the 3rd party to try to change the dates. 3rd party spoke to someone named Quay who said they changed the dates with no additional charge. I called the property the next day and they were unaware of the change. 3rd party site reached out on my behalf and they refuse to make the change without additional payment. They also refuse to refund me, even though I stayed twice and made payment for my mistake already.

I would like someone to contact me for a partial refund. The swimming pool was closed and nowhere on the site. Does it say it’s closed or on Expedia does it say it’s closed and that is what my children were planning on doing.

I enjoyed my room & stay! The only inconvenience is breakfast was 6:30am to 9:30am. For those of us that don’t do an early breakfast 7am to 11am would probably accommodate most guests not just those there for business or with small children that need to eat early. I was there for a 3 day birthday getaway and didn’t take advantage of the complimentary breakfast either day.

Everything seemed old, outdated and used. Phone in room didn’t work so I had to go to the front desk to ask for items not in the room. They didn’t have extra blankets for the pullout bed. Thankfully we had extra in the car. Asking for shampoo, since all they provided in the room was conditioner, seemed like it was asking for too much. Overall, I wouldn’t stay until it was me and not my family - pass.

Hot tub was not in working condition that was o e of the amenities i was looking forward too. And the pool was crowded with kids screaming bloody murder

I booked 4 rooms for my family and I. The rooms could use a tad bit of updating but overall we were satisfied. The highlight of our stay was Juanita at the front desk she was AMAZING!! She was so accommodating! We all loved her.

Convenient to shopping and family. Pleasant staff. Would have enjoyed some fresh fruit with the breakfast bar.

The only thing our family was disappointed in was the hot tub was out of order.. and the breakfast was not that good.

The fantastic Staff make the difference at this hotel! The moment you arrive and one of the Front Desk Agents greets you with a friendly, helpful smile, Juanita, Michelle, Manny or the overnight Staff they do everything to make you feel welcome! The Housekeeping Staff are wonderful cleaning the rooms and helping with your requests. While I haven't eaten the breakfast because of my dietary needs I hear from Guests how delicious the included breakfast is! The location of the Hotel is like a secret hideaway tucked behind a bank. It's perfect for walking to the local Short Pump Mall and all the nearby popular restaurants or if you want to walk or jog for exercise! If you wanted to catch a bus there is a bus stop within walking distance about 1 city blocks. During my stay I've met Guests who had their Wedding Reception here, were moving from other states and transitioning to this State or local area or on their way to another State, business individuals in town to meet at their Corporate offices, a family displaced temporarily from their local home which caught on fire and they choose to stay here while their home is being rebuilt and I thought that was very brave, an elderly mother and her senior daughter who were doing one last road trip across country. I've met many Guests with a variety of stories, those I spoke with, including myself have wonderful things to say about the Staff and the Hotel. I feel that deserves a Excellent recommendation!

Front desk staff (Ms. Junipa) was very inconsiderate toward my family and i when it came to extending my stay. The experience was so terrible that i left the hotel with my family, refused to return under any circumstances and relocated to another establishment where my family and i were treated with courtesy and respect. Because of my experience with one staff member on that morning, I've committed to never stay with any Wingate franchise again.
