Holiday Inn Express and Suites Exmore, Eastern Shore, an IHG Hotel

My husband and I were visiting with family and stay at this Holiday Inn Express in Exmore. We asked for a handicap room with a King size bed and non-smoking of which we got on the first floor. The desk clerk was very friendly and asked if she could assist us in anyway. The room was very nice and clean, bed was very comfortable, TV, coffee was great. I loved the new way that they installed a screen and push button shade instead of curtains. I always hated those curtains right over the air conditioner that was hard to keep together when the air or heat was blowing. Plenty of space and plug ins for all your devices. When leaving one of the workers was cleaning in the hallway and when he saw me struggling with the luggage rack, he stopped what he was doing to help me. Everyone that worked there was so friendly and pleasant and helpful. Great place to stay and I will stay there again.

Room was generally spacious and clean except for the toilet. Breakfast area seating were limited during rush hours due to the large chair sizes and bar stool arrangements, not convenient for families. Breakfast has a lot more greasy than healthier choices.

This hotel has an old shell but renovated furniture so, you can see where they place new baseboards in the bathroom but the caulking is missing and the faucets are rusted and are outdated. The tv stand and connecting dresser looks very nice, but the carpet is old. When you enter the room, it has a damp feeling to it. You can definitely smell the carpet. The front desk is very nice and so are the attendants during breakfast. There is a good option for breakfast, which our family loved. The hotel needs major renovations - everywhere you looked it seemed a door is ajar, a chair is broken, or a sign is curled in the corners. I didn't like that the cleaning room doors are always open - you can see everything in there. This room needs to be kept out of sight. I would definitely stay if you're just popping in for the night, but not for long stays at all.

Property was clean, quiet, and family friendly. Room was clean, comfortable, and welcoming. Brandon at the front desk was very courteous and friendly. He answered all my questions and was very accommodating. It was truly a pleasure to stay at this location. I will gladly stay here again on my next trip to VA.

Great stay & VERY kid friendly. Definitely will stay again on the next trip there.

It was great that there was an indoor pool for the kids. There were not enough towels in the rooms for the number of people in the room. There was no one at the front desk when I went a few times to ask for more. I even called the front desk and no one answered.

It was very clean our room was ready early which was appreciated after being in our car 9 hours with kids

My family and I stayed at this Holiday Inn Express for one night after leaving earlier than expected for our family vacation. Typically on our road trips to our vacation destinations, if a stop over hotel is needed, we stay at a Holiday Inn Express. I was disappointed with the cleanliness of this particular establishment. When entering the room, the first impression was the distinct smell of mold and mildew. The tile floors felt like they were covered in a film of slim. The showerhead was not properly fastened to the plumbing pipe. Which lead to more of the water spraying out of the pipe onto the ceiling than what came out of the showerhead itself. Overall the property suited our needs for a one night stay. However, maintenance and housekeeping needs a little attention.

We decided to stay an extra night in the area to catch a ferry to Tangier Island the next day. This hotel is pretty much in the middle of nowhere. Nothing really to do in the area, but I’m glad we found something nice, clean and comfortable in the area after checking out of a KOA campground about 40 minutes south. The only problem we had was the indoor pool wasn’t heated, but it was in the process of being fixed. The water was super cold so we didn’t swim. But, we did enjoy just sitting down at the pool area and reading as no one else was there at the time. They allowed for an early checkin as a storm was rolling in, so that was convenient for my family of 4. We hung out in our room, ordered food from a local pizza shop, had a good night’s sleep and breakfast the next morning provided by the hotel.

I booked the hotel for a family vacation trip to visit friends and family. I stayed for two nights. I enjoyed the pool and breakfast. They started a pancake nights and I'm happy to say my kids loved that too.
