Best Western Kilmarnock Hotel

We stayed there for Moms funeral. The staff was informative and friendly, the breakfasts reasonable and the location to where we needed to be with family convenient. We’re grateful for the bed and the space but there’s no place like home!

Although a no pet policy - 2 dogs were barking for 2 hours. I reported to night clerk - who said they were service animals. If truly service animals shouldn’t have been alone in their rooms without their owners. Very noisy also with kids running in halls and people, including staff smoking and talking out front of hotel which was near my room. Breakfast was fair - first day out of orange juice, yogurt and fresh fruit. Better next 2 days. TV very limited channels. Carpets need shampooing in halls and rooms. A drunk man was wandering hall Saturday night trying to find his room on all 2nd floor rooms - his actual room was on first floor! He even peed in hallway since he couldn’t get into a room in time. Staff at desk mostly friendly and helpful - except for second night (Friday). My message light was constantly blinking but there were no messages. He couldn’t turn off light on phone - so I went 2 nights with light blinking near my bed. Linens OK. Rather worn. Bed comfortable. No maid service during stay - but they would provide free linen exchange.

The hallway smelled like garbage. The upholstered chair in our room was dirty, stains on the comforter, bathroom was dirty. Other guests complained of cockroaches and were sleeping in their vehicles. We didn't see any in our room, but that family who spoke to us said they had been changed to 2 different rooms with the same results. I do not recommend staying here

Great for families...friendly staff. Also, excellent breakfast

We have stayed in this hotel several times but has gone downhill. It was always nice , smooth , no problems at all. This tome the bathroom was dirty , the lights stopped working , and a group of loud kids were in joinng room.

First and foremost the staff was amazing. If I was rating the hotel on staff alone it would be a 10/10. However, I am not basing this review on the staff. The room we was assigned to was clean and had everything that the room needed except for the roaches, because we booked during the holidays they was at full capacity as well as other places in the area. So we couldn’t move rooms. The staff immediately placed baits and was apologetic. We had the inconvenience of cleaning our bathroom multiple time to prevent the spread of germs and bacteria from the roaches. The plus was it seemed as if they was contain to the bathroom. We did end up throwing away clothes we had in the bathroom because who wants to bring roaches home? ( we found a baby roach in them when we was shaking the clothes) we also TV was working and it was never fixed during our stay. That didn’t matter because we was there to visit family anyway. If this hotel get the roaches other control this could be an amazing place to stay.
