We reserved a 2 queen bed room for our family of 3. When we arrived, the hotel could not honor our reservation and tried to give us a 1 queen bed room without offering any extra accommodations. The hotel blamed it on hotels.com not communicating with them and also not giving them our information. In probably a decade of using hotels.com, I've never had this issue before and I have several times had hotels contact me through hotels.com. After I insisted they do more for us, they did accommodate us with a room in another hotel they owned 15 minutes away. This is why they get a 2 from me and not a 1. Although this was extra inconvenient too, since the event we were there for was hosted at the Maverik Center, across the street from the original hotel, and was the entire reason we chose this hotel. After our stay, there were 2 deposits taken on my credit card, the one on the 2nd hotel was only a hold and dropped off. The one on the original hotel (where we did not stay) came through as an actual charge and did not come off the card until 5 days after the end of our stay and a call from me to the hotel. during that call and online correspondence after, the hotel representative gave attitude like I was inconveniencing her...wanting MY money back for a place I never even stayed at.

Have my room away. No room for me and my kids at one am.

This was a great property for staying at near the Concert Venue, but there wasn't much else going on. The rooms had a kitchenette and a decent bed, but there were lots of weird characters outside the hotel. I wouldn't have come with kids, and I wouldn't do an extended stay here, but it worked well for our purposes - and there wasn't anything that the hotel could have done differently. Only fault in the room is that the fridge was really loud - so much that it kept me up all night (my husband slept fine though!).

We stayed at the My Place in Carson SLC / West Valley for one night with our kid and 2 pets. Ms. Garcia was extra-ordinarily helpful during our check-in process. Just a heads up it's got a $100 deposit, and there is a pet fee per pet and is located next to train tracks - which worked for us and our very enthusiastic train-loving kid. The room itself was clean, tidy, neat. Everything in working order. The hotel itself was completely full with a myriad of characters, which meant check-in was really busy even late at night. Someone in the elevator joked West Valley wasn't a safe place for people, though safe for cars, in case it's useful. We were extremely grateful for pillowy soft beds, understanding staff, and having an intact vehicle after a very long day of driving. Thank you MPH - SLC / WVC.

I wish we would have chosen a different hotel from the moment we pulled up at the hotel. There was a homeless family sitting outside the hotel when we pulled up and the woman had her hands down her pants. Although disgusted, we decided to check-in. When checking-in the receptionist was less than helpful, not speaking to me at all aside from asking for my drivers license and credit card. She never told me where the elevator was, or when breakfast was, or even the Wi-Fi password, which is a basic courtesy at any other hotel I’ve stayed at. There was also a little girl that as I soon realized was most likely the staff’s kids grabbed my leg and hung onto it while I was signing paperwork and nothing was said to her by the front desk receptionist. This made me very uncomfortable. As we made our way to our room we noticed that the door was propped open and there was a maintenance man in there “fixing” a “desk” which was really a table. The housekeeper across the hall couldn’t speak a word of English and called the manager on her phone and handed it to me to talk to him. He came up and spoke with the maintenance man who said he’d be done in a minute. Why would they check us into a room that wasn’t ready in the first place? The room itself was filthy, hadn’t been vacuumed or mopped. We had to ask for new towels upon check-in because the ones in the room were dirty. It was almost as though they made the beds and didn’t touch anything else and there was so much broken stuff.

The night staff let a small child run up and down the hall playing being very loud. We were right next to the front desk and nobody asked them to keep it down it was midnight. Just a very loud place to try and sleep.
