Hampton Inn West Valley Salt Lake City

Overall our stay was great. The only thing that was not great was the treatment before we left. They offer a free breakfast which is a perk that I really enjoy as a mother of two kids traveling. So we woke up, packed up our stuff and began loading some it into the car, then went back inside to eat before going upstairs to get the rest of our stuff. I guess leaving through the side door and re-entering in the front caused the front desk girl to think we were stealing. She gave us the nastiest looks as we got our food. Finally my husband went to ask her if there was a straw available and she had enough and demanded proof we were staying there. He provided the room number, she demanded ID to verify the last name on the room. He even flashed her the key. She was still giving us the stink eye even after he proved we stayed the night. Totally weird. Not sure if this is a normal thing for Utah - families going to hotels to steal free breakfast - or what. But the hotel was nice, the pool was great and the rooms were extremely clean. Everyone except that morning receptionist was a pleasure to encounter.

Decided to spend New Years Eve there with my kids and it was conveniently located among many places to eat as well as a target and even a movie theater, the girl that helped us check in was very welcoming and friendly, and thought it was a nice, personal touch seeing our name on the t.v. welcoming us to the room, will definitely be returning

The staff was very friendly and my family appreciated so much that we were able to enjoy ourselves as well being comfortable.
