Salt Lake Plaza Hotel SureStay Collection by Best Western

Made reservations online got to property and had a family emergency and had to leave without stepping foot in the room. Went to get a refund and checkout staff was smoking a weed pen and told us not to worry we will leave a note for expedia on your file. They never did and refused to give us a refund despite never stepping foot in the room.

Easy to find. The staff were polite. The view was nice. The room was a nice size but very dated and you can only use the toilet comfortably if you are a child. I strongly recommend you don’t use the parking garage if you have a larger vehicle, the first height warning is 6”4’ which I don’t think was accurate, the next height warning is 6”2’. We unfortunately scrapped the top of our truck (it’s not lifted nor does it have larger tires).

It was so close to the family history center.

The room was very quiet, which was great. The view was awesome as well. However, the beds were too high. I am only 4ft 11" so it was very difficult to get on the bed. The bathroom had mold in the shower tiles. Just needs some tlc. I don't think that guests of the motel should have to pay for parking. The desk clerk was not friendly at all when we checked in. The pool was slimy. Even the kids refused to swim in it. Won't be staying there again.

DO NOT BOOK A STAY AT THIS HOTEL!!! My flight was cancelled and I was forced to stay in Salt Lake for the night. I booked this room because it had good reviews on Expedia. When I arrived, there were troves of teenage boys throughout the hotel for a volleyball tournament in the area. That wouldn't have been a problem per say, but these kids were completely unmanaged the entire time they were in the hotel. They spent the night running up and down the halls and pounding on my door from 11pm-3am. I contacted the front desk three times about the issue only for them to tell me they would send security up, but there was nothing they could do. When security arrived, I told him how frustrated and exhausted I was only for the security guard to start hitting on me and telling me that if he wasn't in uniform he'd be holding me right now. Once he left, I called the front desk to complain again and they told me my only option was to check out of the hotel and get a refund... it was 2am and I was alone in a strange city. I was kept awake all night, afraid for my safety, and the hotel managers completely disregarded me. 0/5. Worst hotel experience of my life.

Very loud outside, very rude guest allowong kids to run and knock on doors as late ae 11pm then run and hide. Need more security with inside hall ways.

The front desk staff (both male with curly dark hair) gave no kindness nor compassion. They require a physical credit card and no negotiation what so ever: no google pay, paypal or venmo, even when the room was already fully paid for. I lost my wallet and my child was having asthma attack but my child was not allowed on the premises. I offered to leave my passport or other valuables with them till my wallet was found so my child can lie down and rest. No way. They, however, didn't mind drunk kids (some look like teenagers) come in and out. Fortunately, I got my wallet back two hours later and was finally able to check in. The pillows are tiny and in squares, my child fall off the pillow every time he turns, shower water was not hot. Over all the worst experience in years. Will definitely not return.

Location is great. The room was very clean and staff was friendly. It is a little outdated but you cant expect a 13 floor building to be upgraded all the time. However they really should start revenating each floor till it is as it needs some love. Espically the elevators. I remeber going to this hotel when i was a kid and it has seen better days. However for the price. Its not bad. It was a lot better than the others i seen close to the price. I could of swore there use to be a inside restaunt years ago. Also i heard the pool was closed? Cant confirn tho. If you need a last minute place to stay at a reseaonable price for SLC near downtown and the mall and feel safe with a clean room. This place will work! Will be back again next trip up there.

No frills but reliable and convenient and reasonably priced accommodations. Staff is very friendly. The property overall could stand to be updated but it is clean. Closest possibility lodging to the family history library for genealogy research.

It's in a great location with a TRAX stop right in front of the hotel. A haven for genealogists as it's right next to the family history library. Rooms are large with a stuffed chair and a small table with a chair. Nice views from the windows. Staff cleaned my room one day even though I didn't leave until about 3 PM.
