This has become our home away from home while in SLC. We have family in SLC and make the trip from California at least once a year. The Peery is located near many dining and gathering spots, easy on and off the freeway and simply a nice and comfortable place to stay with some added elegance to make the trip a bit more special.

Unique, historical building turned hotel by Hilton. Walkable to pubs and City Creek mall as well as Main Street. Excellent for families. Only knock on the property is lack of complimentary parking for guests/VIP.

Beautiful historic hotel with interesting design. I loved how close it was to shops and dining. Would definitely recommend it to friends and family.

I just adore historic hotels. We really enjoyed this one. Like most old properties, the rooms are smaller and laid out differently. (We actually had family in other rooms and no two were alike). The surrounding area has great bars, restaurants, and entertainment all within walking distance. There wasn’t street noise that I had expected, but the pipes were louder than I thought they would be. (Again, another feature of old properties). The only real disappointment was how unfriendly the staff was, and how stingy with amenities they are. I had to repeatedly ask for cream and sugar for the coffee in the room, and they would send ONE at a time. I asked more than once for toiletries, and would get one lotion. Really inconvenient.

When we arrived, the man working the front desk told us we would not be able to use their restaurants, because children are not allowed in any facility anywhere in UT that serves alcohol. I found out by calling around to other places that he was wrong, but it really gave us quite a scare. In the room, the toilet is inches away from the bathtub - too close for my 6’7” son to fit. We had to get a new room (the 3rd room was a BIT better but we’d lost hope of anything better by then). The beds were very squeaky, and the AC was very loud. Both made for a restless night for my family of 4. The property is beautiful and surrounded by restaurants, but we will find a new hotel next time.
