Best Western East Zion Thunderbird Lodge

The staff was very friendly and helpful. That asked how my day was, where I’m from, etc. It was a good, friendly, and family environment. Great place to stay.

Great experience. Great location between Zion and Bryce Canyon. Restaurants are far apart in this area, and having a restaurant on site was great. Pool and hot tub were great after a long day of hiking, and are open 24-hours! Service was great, and I think the person assisting me was a member of the family that owns the place. He was very proud of the place, invested in our experience, and had a sense of humor. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is that our final morning the started doing some kind of construction/remodeling in the unit above us at 8am, which really frustrated a few members of my family.

It was amazing to be able to park our car right next to the door of the room and the ice machine which was in the laundry room right next door. We were on a 3 week tent camping road trip and our lives were in the car, organized for easy car access, not necessarily for bringing into hotels. Every employee we interacted with at the hotel and restaurant was amazing. The room was huge! There was a table and chairs and two beds an still room for a sleeping pad on the floor for the youngest and more room to spare. The beds, bedding, and pillows were comfortable. The showerhead was super cool. The hand-washing soap was super-good smelling liquid soap in an electric dispenser next to the sink to minimize bar soap/packaging waste. There were a bunch of coffee and tea options. It had a fridge and all the other things you'd want/need besides a microwave in the room (though it said somewhere that there are microwaves on premises for guests to use). The pool area was nice (though a couple more umbrellas would be better). The pool was super cool with an attached baby pool area and it got super deep... I think from 3 to 8 feet. My one complaint was the cooling system. It was just one of those wall machines and there was no option to keep the fan on all the time, so it just went on and off constantly, and even though we had it on the lowest temp, it never really got cool enough in the room. I didn't really sleep both nights because it was cool when it was running and then hot when not.
