TownePlace Suites by Marriott Waco Northeast

Checkin was easy and friendly front desk clerk. Hotel was clean. Beds were comfortable. On day two of our stay the people right next door had brought their dog and left their dog the whole day in their room and their dog barked none stop all day long. I spoke with the front desk about the barking dog and was told that the people paid their money for their dog and they couldn’t do anything about it. I then called Marriott’s customer service and she talked to the hotel manager and he told her the same thing that he couldn’t do anything about the dog. After speaking to someone higher up with Marriott, I was told that the pet policy clearly states that “you are never to leave your pet unattended for any reason” but Manager still refused to do anything about the barking dog. We finally had to leave our room and go somewhere to get away from the dog. I kept being told they paid their money for the dog but yet when I told them I paid my money they didn’t care. I will never stay at another Marriott again. Hilton is where we usually stay Also the breakfast wasn’t that great and what little that they did have out was gone as quick as they put it out because they would only put enough out for a couple of people at a time. No milk for the kids cereal. Had to apparently go get the milk from the store.

The hotel was conveniently located and the room (suite) was clean. The AC was a bit noisy and when I shut if off, dripping water or condensation could be heard from the unit. The pool was very tiny. This hotel is good for adults on business, but with modern decor, nothing attractive or inviting for kids. Lots of fast food in the area, but lack of nice dining options close by. Steak house next door was mediocre.

I have stayed at your hotel numerous times with my grandchildren. The people at the front desk are always so friendly and courteous. I always enjoy seeing Loretta at the front desk.

Room was not ready at the designated check in time (3 pm). The female clerk was not friendly. Did not greet us with a hello or how can I help you? It appeared she did enjoy her job. Room was average. The remote control for the tv did not work properly. The male clerk stated you have to stand on the side of the tv for it to power on. Did not work and had to manually turn on the television. On the last day, I observed two baby spiders on the bathroom floor.

It was new but felt like a drug rehab housing place with many families not tending to their children in the common areas. The property will be trashed within a year.
