Staybridge Suites University Area, an IHG Hotel

They gave my reserved room to someone else and tried splitting my family into two separate rooms without notifying me so i showed up at the property and was told that they changed my reservation to different rooms. Totally unacceptable since i was traveling with multiple children and the rooms they tried to put me in would not accommodate us. Will not be back again.

The property is close to the area where my family reunion was held. The hotel is great for pets. The front desk staff was always friendly and professional. The breakfast and the staff responsible for the breakfast area were kind, professional and accommodating. I love this hotel!!!

Our stay was great it was a girls birthday trip for my daughter her friends and my family.

The whole purpose of this stay was for the kids to enjoy the swimming pool. I called in advance & was told the swimming pool was heated & that the windows would be closed. I had read in another review that the windows are kept open. Anyway the pool water wasn’t freezing but not warm enough & the windows do not fully close since they are literally holes in the walls, so the pool room was really cold. My kids were really disappointed they couldn’t get in. Other than that the beds were comfortable, the room was clean, & we had everything we needed in the room kitchen. They had a good breakfast too.

Checked into hotel around 3 pm thermostat was set to 79 so we turned it down. Was gone for 8 hours thinking temp would go down due to us lowering the ac and also the sun going down. NOPE! We got back and room was 79 degrees, we called front desk several times and all you could hear was the tv they were watching also they hosted a baby shower full of kids till 11 pm?!?! Could hear screaming all the way on the second floor. So we marched to the front desk to see the worker kicked back watching movies on her computer. Of course she couldn’t move us rooms due to being booked up, which we understood. Continues by telling us to call Monday to speak to manage Kim and we would get a lower rate on our stay. We called Monday and they told us she was there and they were transferring us now but VOICEMAIL FULL. Go figure. So to sum everything up do not stay here, once they have your money they don’t care.

The layout of room was great. Had a kitchenette and couch. Great for families. BUT there was mold in the bathroom, it was on the ceiling, on the shower curtain, and shower. They are currently going through renovations and the paint job and touch up was horrible. The saddest part of our trip was that the jacuzzi was broken. After a long day of walking, we all looked forward to that. There were no signs posted or anything. Also on Saturday there was no continental breakfast available because someone didn’t show up to work. Front desk staff wasn’t friendly.
