Kemah Edgewater Hotel

First, my family stayed here in Feb. 2024. We had three rooms and had no problems. So, I booked for my husband and I for this trip Sept. 2024. We went to the room we were given and when I opened the door I couldn’t even walk in. The smell of musty mold was unbearable. We immediately went down to the desk and let the clerk know. She gave us another room. This room was not much better. My husband sprayed some body spray to try and help. At this point it was late and we regrettably stayed in the room. The next morning I went down to try and eat breakfast. The smell was horrible on the first floor. It smelled musty and like something was burning. When I checked out I told the man behind the desk and he didn’t seem bothered or concerned. I asked other people by the elevator if their rooms smelled and they all said there was a musty smell some were worse than others. We will not be booking stays here again.

i went there with my family with my kids and all the rooms they have has a strong mold smell and my kid has allergies with mold smell i went to the front desk and explained she called the owner and the owner said we will refund you, i heard him in the phone but when we checked out i called expedia they denied the refund i dont know how they rip people off like that i will all stay away from this hotal including my families and my friends because the smell is very strong and bad plus all hotels refund you with no problems.

This was our second time to stay at this hotel. It’s a great location and very comfy. I love that we bring our small dog with us. It will definitely be our go to place when we are in town visiting family and friends!

My family really enjoyed our stay here. Our room was a Suite and it was very spacious! The beds were both very soft and comfortable! The gentleman and lady who worked the front were both a delight!! I saw several reviews complaining about a smell which we did not experience. Everything was clean and fresh! As well as fussing about breakfast variety..the gentleman was upfront while checking in and told us they no longer offered a full breakfast bar which was ok with us as my family isn’t breakfast people anyway. There was still cereal, bagels and other options available. The pool was nice and clean and they provide you with pool towels as well. What really sold us was that they are pet friendly! We were very thankful for this because our fur babies travel everywhere with us!! 10 out of 10 would recommend!!

The owner is a very nice man. We stayed in the family suite, it was a great size for my family and the beds were super comfortable! The room did have an odd smell but not terrible.

The room above must of had 4-5 kids in it. Same with rooms on my floor which created a lot of noise. These type of guest should be grouped together. We did complain to front desk and they reduced the noise for an hour then started back.
