La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham San Marcos Outlet Mall

We enjoyed our stay at the hotel, my family and I had a long day of travel and wanted to relax and the easy checking made everything better

Location: Good location that is reasonably close to the outlet shops and far enough away from the freeway that the traffic doesn't keep you up. Not difficult to get to. Rooms: Beds were very firm, which was difficult for my family to sleep on for four nights. Rooms very clean, so kudos to the custodial team for our room. No issues with AC or noise. Service: We got a warm welcome at check in, but any time after that felt a bit cold from the front desk staff. I went up a couple times to ask for a large trash bag or more laundry bags because the little one in the room was not nearly big enough for our laundry from a family of 4. I only got two more, and when I said it wasn't enough, they said they could not give any more. If that's policy, then that's policy, but for a space that does not have laundry, the policy feels very unaccommodating. Breakfast was honestly awful. Hours were from 6-9, but by 8:00, a lot of stuff was out, so I couldn't eat much. What I did get ended up being thrown away because something was off with the food multiple days in a row. Other notes: The place oddly looked a little out of sorts. Room signs has fallen in the hallways, and there were pockets of messes (stuck gum, piles of food) here and there on the property. Their commissary was lack luster for snacks and drinks - I had rathered drive to Walmart than buy what they had there.

Wonderful hotel. Staff is always friendly. The pool is great for small children and very relaxing at the end of a long day. Always clean and smells great when you walk in the door. Being greeted by Roxanne at the front desk to check in is a great experience too. She is so nice and always friendly and accommodating. Looking forward to our next stay in June.

I stayed one night with the family rooms were little bit dirty but bed was good enough to sleep throughout the night.

Loud kids up and down the hallway until midnight!!??

Hotel does not work well with expedia, cancel reservation at the moment my family arrived and pointed to every other reason they were not at the wrong. This could be you next time losing time at the counter and finding a hotel last minute.

This has been the 3rd or 4th time me or my family have booked a stay at this location and it has been pretty consistent each time.

Stayed here with a co-worker for a nearby conference, this was the second time I've stayed here. Hotel appearance inside & out was clean and staff was friendly. Room was nice & clean, however, the AC wouldn't cool as it should. My only other negative was the room above ours must have had children because we could hear them stomping around late into the evening and early in the morning. Overall was a good stay, would recommend for anyone visiting but maybe not business- needing sleep.

We stayed three nights for family graduation. When walking in, you could smell dogs. I understand this hotel is a pet friendly hotel, but do something about the wet dog smell when someone first walks in. The floors by the elevators were sticky and spotty. The smell lingered into the elevators as well. Our room was clean and smelled nice. The shower did not have strong water pressure. The door stop to the bathroom was broken so the bathroom door would always hit the shower stall. The bed was clean and comfortable. We were happy with that. We typically stay at this hotel frequently, so we were surprised at some of this things we saw and smelled. The overall cleanliness of the room and the comfort of the bed, saved it for us. But we will consider other hotels in the future. Not to say we will never come back, we will just look into other options in the future.

We were in town for a dog competition and so were traveling with two large dogs. The ladies at the front desk were incredibly friendly when we checked in. The front lobby area was large and new looking. I got excited when I saw that there was a bar in the lobby, but it didn’t appear to actually be in service. Because we had the two dogs, I booked an “oversized” suite room and it did not disappoint. There was plenty of room for all of our gear and for the dogs to have room to stretch out. A couple of slight negatives….the room was located right off the elevator, and it was very noisy. We could hear people (mainly kids) yelling and running down the hall into the wee hours of the morning. I also felt that for as new as the hotel appeared to be, the cleanliness of the room could’ve been a little better. It was nothing horrendous, but there was some discoloration on the sheets and the couch, and the shower could’ve used a thorough scrubbing with some mildew remover. Some positives: While we didn’t use the pool, it did appear to be nice. Normally the lobby area is empty, but while we were there we almost always saw people there playing games or eating their dinner….not in a loud, drunken partying way but in a low-key just hanging out. The breakfast was great. Lots of variety. The location was great. It’s within walking distance of the outlet mall and a quick drive to lots of restaurants. However, it’s not right off the highway, so there wasn’t any traffic noise.
